Value of Three-Dimensional Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in the Diagnosis of Small Adnexal Masses

TL;DR: 3D-CEUS is likely to be the new tool to distinguish malignant from benign small adnexal masses and diagnose early ovarian cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) imaging of solid benign focal liver lesions

TL;DR: This narrative review discusses the main CEUS features of benign liver lesions and controversies in published results including the gold standard chosen and the quality and knowledge of the preferred techniques.

Ultrasound contrast media in paediatric patients: is it an off-label use? Regulatory requirements and radiologist’s liability

TL;DR: The duties, obligations and liability of ultrasound radiologists according to the laws in force are defined to define the off-label use of medications in Italy.
Journal ArticleDOI

EFSUMB guidelines 2015 on interventional ultrasound.

TL;DR: The review refers to the history of interventional ultrasound and comments on the current EFSUMB guidelines, including the level of evidence and the more practical grade of recommendation.

Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in Assessing Therapeutic Response in Ablative Treatments of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

TL;DR: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) with second generation contrast agents is almost as sensitive as CT (considered to be the gold standard) in depicting the residual tumor after an ablation.

New Guidelines to Evaluate the Response to Treatment in Solid Tumors

TL;DR: A model by which a combined assessment of all existing lesions, characterized by target lesions and nontarget lesions, is used to extrapolate an overall response to treatment is proposed, which is largely validated by the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors Group and integrated into the present guidelines.

Percutaneous radio-frequency ablation of hepatic metastases from colorectal cancer: long-term results in 117 patients.

TL;DR: RF ablation is an effective method to treat hepatic metastases from colorectal carcinoma and Frequency and time to local recurrence were related to lesion size (P < or =.001).
Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Radio-frequency Ablation of Medium and Large Lesions

TL;DR: RF ablation appears to be an effective, safe, and relatively simple procedure for the treatment of medium and large HCCs in patients with cirrhosis or chronic hepatitis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Percutaneous RF interstitial thermal ablation in the treatment of hepatic cancer.

TL;DR: RF interstitial thermal ablation is a useful percutaneous treatment for hepatic cancer and in the patients treated for metastatic nodules, posttreatment imaging studies showed necrosis that varied from 80% to 100% in all cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pulse inversion Doppler: a new method for detecting nonlinear echoes from microbubble contrast agents

TL;DR: In vitro measurements comparing flowing agent and cellulose particles suggest that pulse inversion Doppler can provide 3 to 10 dB more agent to tissue contrast than harmonic imaging with similar pulses, and in vitro measurements suggest that broadband pulse inverts can provide up to 16 dB more contrast than broadband conventional Dopplers.
