In vitro evaluation of the impact of ultrasound scanner settings and contrast bolus volume on time-intensity curves.
TL;DR: Rise time was found to be the parameter least impacted by changes to ultrasound scanner settings and contrast bolus volume; the associated coefficient of variation varied between 0.8% and 19%, 12% and 71%, and 9.2% and 66%, for mean transit time, peak intensity, and area under the curve, respectively.

Imaging techniques in the management of chronic kidney disease: current developments and future perspectives.
TL;DR: Recent developments in molecular imaging indicate that pathophysiological pathways of renal diseases such as apoptosis, coagulation, fibrosis, and ischemia will be visualized at the tissue level, which could enable comprehensive imaging of renal structure and function in four dimensions (three dimensions plus time).

Integrative analysis of cutaneous skin tumours using ultrasonogaphic criteria. Preliminary results.
TL;DR: Ultrasound allows a complex, multimodal approach of skin tumors, which completes clinical and histological examinations, orients the therapeutic management and may assess the therapeutic efficacy and the tumoral prognosis.

Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound for the evaluation of focal liver lesions in daily practice. A multicentre study.
Ioan Sporea,Radu Badea,Alina Martie,Eugen Dumitru,Simona Ioaniţescu,Roxana Sirli,Mihai Socaciu,Alina Popescu,Mirela Danila,Mihai Voiculescu +9 more
TL;DR: According to the results, CEUS could be the first imaging method of diagnosis for uncharacteristic FLLs detected by standard ultrasound, providing a correct classification in 84.1% of cases and a correct differentiation between benign/malignant lesions in 91.5%" of cases.

Patrick Therasse,Susan G. Arbuck,Elizabeth Eisenhauer,Jantien Wanders,Richard Kaplan,Larry Rubinstein,Jaap Verweij,Martine Van Glabbeke,Allan T. van Oosterom,Michaele C. Christian,S. Gwyther +10 more
TL;DR: A model by which a combined assessment of all existing lesions, characterized by target lesions and nontarget lesions, is used to extrapolate an overall response to treatment is proposed, which is largely validated by the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors Group and integrated into the present guidelines.

Sandro Rossi,M. Di Stasi,Elisabetta Buscarini,Pietro Quaretti,Francesco Garbagnati,L. Squassante,C. Paties,D E Silverman,Luigi Buscarini +8 more
TL;DR: RF interstitial thermal ablation is a useful percutaneous treatment for hepatic cancer and in the patients treated for metastatic nodules, posttreatment imaging studies showed necrosis that varied from 80% to 100% in all cases.

Pulse inversion Doppler: a new method for detecting nonlinear echoes from microbubble contrast agents
TL;DR: In vitro measurements comparing flowing agent and cellulose particles suggest that pulse inversion Doppler can provide 3 to 10 dB more agent to tissue contrast than harmonic imaging with similar pulses, and in vitro measurements suggest that broadband pulse inverts can provide up to 16 dB more contrast than broadband conventional Dopplers.
