Intravenous contrast-enhanced sonography in children and adolescents - a single center experience.

TL;DR: Ulasonography in children, enhanced by intravenous use of contrast medium is feasible and allows for further evaluating cystic and solid tumors, and organ perfusion, given that proper medical equipment and correct ultrasound machine settings are used, it is a robust method without diagnostic failures
Journal ArticleDOI

Liver Metastases: Sulphur Hexafluoride–Enhanced Ultrasonography for Lesion Detection: A Systematic Review

TL;DR: CEUS seems to be promising in the detection of liver metastases; however, there have not been enough studies to conduct meta-analysis, and further studies are required before this promising method can be widely used.
Journal ArticleDOI

Contrast-enhanced endoscopic ultrasound

TL;DR: The reader will get an overview of current indications and possible applications of CE-EUS in various clinical settings as well as the introduction of different contrast studies including color Doppler techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vascular complications after adult living donor liver transplantation: Evaluation with ultrasonography

TL;DR: This review focuses on the role of conventional gray-scale ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound and CEUS for early diagnosis of vascular complications after adult LDLT.

New Guidelines to Evaluate the Response to Treatment in Solid Tumors

TL;DR: A model by which a combined assessment of all existing lesions, characterized by target lesions and nontarget lesions, is used to extrapolate an overall response to treatment is proposed, which is largely validated by the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors Group and integrated into the present guidelines.

Percutaneous radio-frequency ablation of hepatic metastases from colorectal cancer: long-term results in 117 patients.

TL;DR: RF ablation is an effective method to treat hepatic metastases from colorectal carcinoma and Frequency and time to local recurrence were related to lesion size (P < or =.001).

Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Radio-frequency Ablation of Medium and Large Lesions

TL;DR: RF ablation appears to be an effective, safe, and relatively simple procedure for the treatment of medium and large HCCs in patients with cirrhosis or chronic hepatitis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Percutaneous RF interstitial thermal ablation in the treatment of hepatic cancer.

TL;DR: RF interstitial thermal ablation is a useful percutaneous treatment for hepatic cancer and in the patients treated for metastatic nodules, posttreatment imaging studies showed necrosis that varied from 80% to 100% in all cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pulse inversion Doppler: a new method for detecting nonlinear echoes from microbubble contrast agents

TL;DR: In vitro measurements comparing flowing agent and cellulose particles suggest that pulse inversion Doppler can provide 3 to 10 dB more agent to tissue contrast than harmonic imaging with similar pulses, and in vitro measurements suggest that broadband pulse inverts can provide up to 16 dB more contrast than broadband conventional Dopplers.
