TLDR
In this paper, a single-phase material from a mixture of V 2 O 5, 1,6-diaminohexane and H 2 O in the mol ratio 1:1:269 was synthesized.
Abstract
V 2 O 3 with spherical particles was hydrothermally synthesized (240 °C, 48 h, autogenous pressure) as a single-phase material from a mixture of V 2 O 5 , 1,6-diaminohexane and H 2 O in the mol ratio 1:1:269. It was characterized by scanning electronic microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermal analysis and electron paramagnetic resonance.

Highly ordered lamellar V2O3-based hybrid nanorods towards superior aqueous lithium-ion battery performance

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel model of ordered lamellar organic-inorganic hybrid nanorods is proposed as an excellent platform to circumvent the safety problem associated with conventional lithium-ion batteries that use highly toxic and flammable organic solvents, which usually cause fires and explosions.

Structure and stability of hexa-aqua V(III) cations in vanadium redox flow battery electrolytes

TL;DR: By analyzing the powder precipitate it was found that the formation of sulfate complexed V(III) species is the crucial process in the precipitation reaction, which warrants multiple reaction pathways for precipitation reaction.

Synthesis and characterization of belt-like VO2(B)@carbon and V2O3@carbon core–shell structured composites

TL;DR: In this paper, a belt-like V2O3@C core-shell structured composite was prepared by the heating treatment of VO2(B)@C. This composite has potential applications to the cathode and functional positive temperature coefficient (PTC) materials.

Synthesis and characterization of V2O3 nanorods.

TL;DR: Structural changes in VO2, associated with the metallic-to-insulating transition from the monoclinic form to the rutile form, have been investigated and confirmed using X-ray diffraction and synchrotron data, showing that the structural transition is reversible and occurs at around 63 degrees C.

On the selectivity of Rh catalysts in the formation of oxygenates

TL;DR: In this article, a number of Rh catalysts with various carriers have been studied to gain information on the factors which determine the selectivity of catalysts in the syngas reactions, and it has been found that Rh on V2O3 is a rather selective catalyst for C2-oxygenates.

A novel nonaqueous route to V2O3 and Nb2O5 nanocrystals

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction between transition metal alkoxides and benzyl alcohol provides a novel soft chemistry route to metal oxide nanoparticles, which allows the preparation of nanocrystals of two important transition metal oxides, namely V 2 O 3 and Nb 2 O 5.
