SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, and inherited arrhythmia syndromes.

TL;DR: The potential COVID-19 associated risks and therapeutic considerations for patients with distinct inherited arrhythmia syndromes are described and recommendations, pending local possibilities, for their monitoring and management during this pandemic are provided.
Journal ArticleDOI

2020 APHRS/HRS expert consensus statement on the investigation of decedents with sudden unexplained death and patients with sudden cardiac arrest, and of their families.

TL;DR: This international multidisciplinary document intends to provide clinicians with evidence-based practical patient-centered recommendations for evaluating patients and decedents with (aborted) sudden cardiac arrest and their families.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inherited cardiac arrhythmias.

TL;DR: Future research should focus on the identification of genes associated with the diseases and other risk factors, improved risk stratification and, in particular for Brugada syndrome, effective therapies.

Determinants of Sudden Cardiac Death in Individuals With the Electrocardiographic Pattern of Brugada Syndrome and No Previous Cardiac Arrest

TL;DR: A large cohort of patients with Brugada syndrome without previous cardiac arrest is analyzed to understand the determinants of prognosis and the therapeutic strategy for these patients.

Diagnostic and prognostic value of a Type 1 Brugada electrocardiogram at higher (third or second) V_1 to V_2 recording in men with Brugada syndrome

TL;DR: In this paper, the diagnostic and prognostic value of an electrocardiogram (ECG) recorded at a higher (third or second) intercostal space was evaluated, and the results showed that men with spontaneous type 1 Brugada ECG recorded only at higher leads V(1) and V(2) showed a prognosis similar to that of men with a type 1 ECG in using standard leads V((1)) and V((2)).

Right bundle branch block, persistent ST segment elevation and sudden cardiac death: a distinct clinical and electrocardiographic syndrome. A multicenter report.

TL;DR: Common clinical and ECG features define a distinct syndrome in this group of patients with recurrent episodes of aborted sudden death unexplainable by currently known diseases, not explainable by electrolyte disturbances, ischemia or structural heart disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

AHA/ACCF/HRS recommendations for the standardization and interpretation of the electrocardiogram: part III: intraventricular conduction disturbances: a scientific statement from the American Heart Association Electrocardiography and Arrhythmias Committee, Council on Clinical Cardiology; the American College of Cardiology Foundation; and the Heart Rhythm Society. Endorsed by the International Society for Computerized Electrocardiology.

TL;DR: The present article introduces the second part of “Recommendations for Standardization and Interpretation of the Electrocardiogram”, a project initiated by the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association and endorsed by the American College of Cardiology.

Brugada Syndrome: Report of the Second Consensus Conference Endorsed by the Heart Rhythm Society and the European Heart Rhythm Association

TL;DR: The present report elaborates further on the diagnostic criteria and examines risk stratification schemes and device and pharmacological approaches to therapy on the basis of the available clinical and basic science data.
