Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of dietary nonphytate phosphorus and calcium concentration on calcium appetite of broiler chicks

TL;DR: It is confirmed that birds are able to meet their Ca requirement when fed Ca separately from the mixed ration, and this may indicate that birds attempt to regulate their intake of Ca relative to nPP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Icariin on Tibial Dyschondroplasia Incidence and Tibial Characteristics by Regulating P2RX7 in Chickens.

TL;DR: The findings suggest that icariin has a significant role in promoting the recovery of chicken growth plates affected by TD via regulating the P2RX7 and reveal a new target for clinical treatment and prevention of TD in broiler chickens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of dietary supplementation of garlic powder and phenyl acetic acid on productive performance, blood haematology, immunity and antioxidant status of broiler chickens.

TL;DR: Feeding of GP or PA in diet had positive effects on performance traits and immunological, antioxidant and physiological status of broilers, and the use of tested feed additives as an eco-friendly alternative to antibiotics produced a positive effect on animal health.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of dietary supplementation of organic zinc on laying performance, egg quality and some biochemical parameters of laying hens.

TL;DR: Dietary zinc methionine supplementation reduced serum triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol and increased Zn status and resulted in promoting antioxidant ability of laying hens, and the addition of 100 mg Zn-Met/kg to layer diet was appropriate for improving the above parameters in addition to egg production indices and Haugh unit score.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of fumonisins on macrophage immune functions and gene expression of cytokines in broilers.

TL;DR: The results suggest that FB1 up to 15 mg/kg does not affect growth performance, but impairs some parameters of blood biochemistry and the immunocompetence in broilers.

Vitamin D deficiency.

T E Oppé
- 21 Jul 1979 -
TL;DR: It is suggested that if assessment of overdoses were left to house doctors there would be an increase in admissions to psychiatric units, outpatients, and referrals to social services, but for house doctors to assess overdoses would provide no economy for the psychiatric or social services.

Nutrition of the Chicken

TL;DR: The health of the chicken depends on the type of meat it is slaughtered and the amount of fat it is fed, as well as its age and gender.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toxic constituents of plant foodstuffs.

TL;DR: Toxic constituents of plant foodstuffs, toxic constituents of plants, toxic constituents as mentioned in this paper, toxic components of plant foods, poisonous constituents of vegetables, and plant food stuffs.
