Influence of two plant extracts on broilers performance, digestibility, and digestive organ size
TL;DR: In the present study, both plant extracts improved the digestibility of the feeds for broilers and the effect of different additives on digestibility improved the performance slightly, but this effect was not statistically significant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of dietary fructooligosaccharide on digestive enzyme activities, intestinal microflora and morphology of male broilers
TL;DR: Two hundred forty male Avian Farms broiler chicks, 1 d of age, were randomly allocated to four treatments, each of which had five pens of 12 chicks per pen, to investigate the effects of fructooligosaccharide (FOS) on digestive enzyme activities and intestinal microflora and morphology.

Lasalocid-Sulfur Amino Acid Interrelationship in the Chick
Gawain M. Willis,David H. Baker +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between lasalocid and sulfur-containing amino acids (SAA) was investigated with young healthy chicks, and the results showed that SAA × lasalocalocid interaction elicited a marked gain and gain/feed response when added to diets severely deficient in SAA, but it resulted in a marked depression in chick performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary Phosphorus Levels during Growth of Brown Egg Type Replacement Pullets
L. B. Carew,D. C. Foss +1 more
TL;DR: Results show that dietary available phosphorus for cage, brown egg type pullets on full or restricted feeding programs can be decreased to a level as low as .25% from 2 to 20 weeks, and .30% from hatching to20 weeks without adverse effect.
