Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of diets containing soybean meal, soybean protein concentrate, and soybean protein isolate of different oligosaccharide content on growth performance and gut function of young turkeys

TL;DR: In conclusion, partial or almost complete substitution of SBM with SPC suppressed the fermentation processes in the ceca but enhanced the growth rate, with no effect on growth rate of older 8-wk-old birds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative efficacy of different dithiocarbamates to induce tibial dyschondroplasia in poultry

TL;DR: Induction of TD in young chickens by means of a short feeding protocol with thiram may be useful to study the mechanisms of pathogenesis of TD and to identify micronutrients that can provide protection against this disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural resistance-associated macrophage protein 1 gene polymorphisms and response to vaccine against or challenge with Salmonella enteritidis in young chicks.

TL;DR: The association of a SNP polymorphism in a highly conserved region ofNRAMP1 with SE vaccine and pathogen challenge response in young chicks is demonstrated, indicating that either NRAMP1 or a linked gene controls these SE-response traits.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of ambient temperature and light intensity on physiological reactions of heavy broiler chickens

TL;DR: The results indicate that continuous exposure of broiler chickens to varying light intensities had a minor effect on physiological blood variables, whereas high ambient temperature markedly affected various blood variables without inducing stress in broilers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Growth Performance, Meat Yield, Oxidative Stability, and Fatty Acid Composition of Meat from Broilers Fed Diets Supplemented with a Medicinal Plant and Probiotics

TL;DR: It can be suggested based on the study results that ACP-0.5% diet could be an effective feed additive for broilers.

Vitamin D deficiency.

T E Oppé
- 21 Jul 1979 -
TL;DR: It is suggested that if assessment of overdoses were left to house doctors there would be an increase in admissions to psychiatric units, outpatients, and referrals to social services, but for house doctors to assess overdoses would provide no economy for the psychiatric or social services.

Nutrition of the Chicken

TL;DR: The health of the chicken depends on the type of meat it is slaughtered and the amount of fat it is fed, as well as its age and gender.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toxic constituents of plant foodstuffs.

TL;DR: Toxic constituents of plant foodstuffs, toxic constituents of plants, toxic constituents as mentioned in this paper, toxic components of plant foods, poisonous constituents of vegetables, and plant food stuffs.
