Raman scattering from 1T-TaS2

TLDR
Raman measurements on the 1 T -polytype of TaS 2 are reported in this paper, where a large number of Raman-active peaks are observed below 400 cm -1, most of which are attributed to k = 0 optic phonons resulting from superlattice formation.

Substrate Processing Apparatus

TL;DR: In this article, a bypass pipe is connected between the mechanical booster pump and the rest vacuum pumps located at a downstream side of the booster pump to prevent the exhaust gas from diffusing back to the inside of a process chamber.

Snapshots of cooperative atomic motions in the optical suppression of charge density waves

TL;DR: Effectively, the atomic motions that result from the optically induced change in the electronic spatial distribution are directly observed and the degree of cooperativity in the observed structural dynamics is remarkable and illustrates the importance of obtaining atomic-level perspectives of the processes directing the physics of strongly correlated systems.

Process feed management for semiconductor substrate processing

TL;DR: In this paper, a gas channel plate for a semiconductor process module is described, which includes a heat exchange surface including a plurality of heat exchange structures separated from one another by intervening gaps.

Systems and methods for thin-film deposition of metal oxides using excited nitrogen-oxygen species

TL;DR: In this paper, a process and system for depositing a thin film onto a substrate using atomic layer deposition (ALD) is described. But it is not shown how to apply ALD to a metal oxide layer.

Charge-density waves and superlattices in the metallic layered transition metal dichalcogenides

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that charge-density waves and their concomitant periodic structural distortions occur in all the 4d1/5d1 dichalcogenides and related the observed periodicities of these CDW states to the theoretical form of the parent Fermi surfaces.

Charge-Density Waves in Metallic, Layered, Transition-Metal Dichalcogenides

TL;DR: In this paper, the anomalous properties of polytypes of charge-density waves, their periodic structure distortions, and the superlattices they induce are attributed to charge density waves.

Phonon Dispersion Curves by Raman Scattering in SiC, Polytypes 3 C , 4 H , 6 H , 1 5 R , and 2 1 R

TL;DR: In this paper, a set of SiC phonon dispersion curves were constructed from first-order Raman scattering data using the existence of polytypes and the symmetry type of each phonon mode was determined by polarization analysis and the modes were further classified by the use of a standard large zone.

Study of Superlattice Formation in 2 H -Nb Se 2 and 2 H -Ta Se 2 by Neutron Scattering

TL;DR: In this article, the temperature dependence of the superlattice wave vector and the lockin behavior were analyzed using a free energy involving terms third order in atomic displacement, and a secondary lattice distortion required by this model was observed.

Landau theory of charge-density waves in transition-metal dichalcogenides

TL;DR: In this article, a Landau theory is proposed for charge-density waves (CDW) in transition-metal dichalcogenides with the charge density as an order parameter, which predicts the sequence of phases, normal-state, commensurate-CDW, with decreasing temperature, separated by first-order phase transitions.
