Journal ArticleDOI

A refined model for prediction of hydrogen bond acidity and basicity parameters from quantum chemical molecular descriptors.

TL;DR: The descriptors used in this work avoid expensive supermolecule calculations, and allow prediction of hydrogen bonding characteristics from the isolated molecular wave function, making them ideal for storage in a quantum isostere database (QID), the construction of which was initiated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Infinite dilution activity coefficients and gas-to-liquid partition coefficients of organic solutes dissolved in 1-sec-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide and in 1-tert-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide

TL;DR: Inverse gas chromatography was used to measure infinite dilution activity coefficients and gas-to-liquid partition coefficients for 48 organic solute probes in either 1-sec-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide or 1-tert -butyl 3methyloride-3methylamidazolate bis (triffluoromethemide) in the temperature range from 323.15 to 373.15 K as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prediction of Human Drug Absorption Using Liposome Electrokinetic Chromatography

TL;DR: In this article, a linear solvation energy relationship (LSER) analysis was conducted to compare the retention mechanism between liposome electrokinetic chromatography (LEKC) and octanol/water system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of benzyl- or cyclohexyl-functionalized ionic liquids using inverse gas chromatography

TL;DR: Inverse gas-liquid chromatography has been used to measure infinite dilution activity coefficients and gas-to-ionic liquid partition coefficients for a chemically diverse set of organic solutes dissolved in 1-benzyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, 1-bensyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium and N -cyclohexyl methylpyridiniamisolium ionic liquids in the temperature range from 323.15 K to 373.

The use of characteristic volumes to measure cavity terms in reversed phase liquid chromatography

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the use of the McGowans characteristic volume, Vx, is equivalent to using Leahy's computer-calculated intrinsic volumes, V1, for the cavity term mV/100, for 209 gaseous, liquid, and solid solutes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Do general anaesthetics act by competitive binding to specific receptors

TL;DR: It is shown that, over a 100,000-fold range of potencies, the activity of a pure soluble protein can be inhibited by 50% at anaesthetic concentrations which are essentially identical to those which anaesthetize animals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrogen bonding: XVI. A new solute salvation parameter, π2H, from gas chromatographic data

TL;DR: In this article, the general salvation equation, log VG0 (or log L) was used to set up a new π2H parameter of solute dipolarity-polarisability, mainly through the extensive data of McReynolds and Patte et al.
