Stimuli-responsive molecular brushes

TLDR
In this paper, the authors review the general aspects of molecular brushes and polymeric responsive systems and highlight the rational approaches to induce stimuli-responsiveness in molecular brush systems, which are unique for molecular brushes since these conformational changes can be restricted to a single molecule.

Many-Chain Effect on the Co-nonsolvency Behavior of Polymer Brush in a Good Solvent Mixture

TL;DR: In this paper, the structural properties of the co-nonsolvency in the grafted polymers are investigated using molecular dynamics simulation, and a phase diagram of the polymer brush system using the average thickness and orientation as structural order parameters when both the grafting density and the fraction of the solvent mixture are varied, respectively.

Thermo-responsive Wormlike Micelles

TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized findings on the simplest trigger applied to wormlike micellar: temperature and discussed the underlying mechanisms of various types of thermo-thickening wormlike systems (non-ionic, cationic, anionic, and zwitterionic) in terms of molecular structure-property relationships.

Self-Aggregation in Aqueous Media of Amphiphilic Diblock and Random Block Copolymers Composed of Monomers with Long Side Chains.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors characterized by cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) the amphiphilic diblock copolymers poly(2-dimethylamino ethyl methacrylate)-b-poly(lauryl methacylate) (PDMAEMA-b-PLMA) and their quaternized derivatives QPDMA-m-mb-plMA at different ratios between hydrophilic and the hydrophobic segments.

Living free-radical polymerization by reversible addition - Fragmentation chain transfer: The RAFT process

TL;DR: The authors proposed a reversible additive-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) method for living free-radical polymerization, which can be used with a wide range of monomers and reaction conditions and in each case it provides controlled molecular weight polymers with very narrow polydispersities.
