TLDR
In this paper, it was observed that a eutectic mixture of sulfathiazole and urea produces a microcrystalline suspension of the drug in water, which can be used to adjust the therapeutic effect of medical compounds.
Abstract
1) Sulfathiazole forms eutectic mixtures with urea, l-ascorbic acid, acetamide, nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, or succinimide. It was observed that a eutectic mixture of sulfathiazole and urea produces a microcrystalline suspension of sulfathiazole in water. 2) Sulfathiazole in a eutectic mixture with urea shows higher absorption and excretion after oral administration than ordinary sulfathiazole. 3) Since urea does not possess solubilizing action on sulfathiazole and also it does not enhance absorption of the drug physiologically, the accelerated absorption or excretion must be attributed to the physical state of sulfathiazole in its eutectic mixture with easily soluble compound, such as urea. 4) It is assumed that this new form of preparation will give a means of adjusting therapeutic effect of medical compounds.

Improvement in Dissolution Property of Poorly Water-soluble Drugs by Using Mechanofusion System

TL;DR: In this article, the dissolution property of poorly water-soluble drug, indomethacin, was improved by using a ball mill or a mechanofusion device, and the highest dissolution rate was attained for the drug dispersion prepared with magnesium aluminomethasilicate (Neusilin) and additives such as PEG6000, sorbitol, mannitol.

The peculiar behavior of the glass transition temperature of amorphous drug-polymer films coated on inert sugar spheres.

TL;DR: In search of an adequate sample preparation method for modulated differential scanning calorimetry analysis of beads coated with glass solutions, glass transition broadening and decrease of the glass transition temperature (Tg) were observed with increasing particle size of crushed coated beads and crushed isolated films of indomethacin and polyvinylpyrrolidone.

Solubility and dissolution enhancement of Nebivolol hydrochloride using hydrophilic carriers

TL;DR: In this article, solid dispersions (SDs) were prepared by physical mixing, melt agglomeration, solvent evaporation and spray drying methods for enhancing the solubility and dissolution rate of NEB by solid dispersion technology.

External Cross-linked Mucoadhesive Microbeads for Prolonged Drug Release: Development and In vitro Characterization.

TL;DR: Mucoadhesiveness of microbeads was dependent on the concentration of copolymers, and the formulations exhibiteda pH-dependent release and followed diffusion-controlled first-order kinetics.
