TLDR
In this paper, it was observed that a eutectic mixture of sulfathiazole and urea produces a microcrystalline suspension of the drug in water, which can be used to adjust the therapeutic effect of medical compounds.
Abstract
1) Sulfathiazole forms eutectic mixtures with urea, l-ascorbic acid, acetamide, nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, or succinimide. It was observed that a eutectic mixture of sulfathiazole and urea produces a microcrystalline suspension of sulfathiazole in water. 2) Sulfathiazole in a eutectic mixture with urea shows higher absorption and excretion after oral administration than ordinary sulfathiazole. 3) Since urea does not possess solubilizing action on sulfathiazole and also it does not enhance absorption of the drug physiologically, the accelerated absorption or excretion must be attributed to the physical state of sulfathiazole in its eutectic mixture with easily soluble compound, such as urea. 4) It is assumed that this new form of preparation will give a means of adjusting therapeutic effect of medical compounds.

RESEARCH ARTICLESUse of Adsorbents in Enhancement of Drug Dissolution I

TL;DR: A new approach is described for increasing the dissolution rates of relatively insoluble powders by equilibration of the drug in an organic solvent on an insoluble excipient with an extensive surface based on the concept of increasing the surface available for contact with dissolution media.

Development and characterization of an atorvastatin solid dispersion formulation using skimmed milk for improved oral bioavailability

TL;DR: It is suggested that solid dispersion of atorvastatin using skimmed milk as carrier is a promising approach for oral delivery of atOrvastsatin.

Study of the physicochemical properties and stability of solid dispersions of loperamide and PEG6000 prepared by spray drying

TL;DR: It could be concluded that loperamide, which is partially crystalline and partially amorphous in the freshly prepared samples, continues to crystallize under these conditions, resulting in progressively poorer dissolution properties.

Nifedipine solid dispersion in microparticles of ammonio methacrylate copolymer and ethylcellulose binary blend for controlled drug delivery Effect of drug loading on release kinetics

TL;DR: Study results indicated that even though drug loading did not significantly affect the microparticle size distribution and morphology, nifedipine release rate from those microparticles was more or less influenced by the level of drug loading, depending on matrix formulation.

Investigation on drug solubility enhancement using deep eutectic solvents and their derivatives

TL;DR: It is found that the observed melting point depression can be statistically correlated with the difference between the hydrogen bonding contribution and the polar contribution to the solubility parameter of the hydrogen bond donor (HBD) component.
