TLDR
An inventory of 20 items with a set of instructions and response- and computational-conventions is proposed and the results obtained from a young adult population numbering some 1100 individuals are reported.

Journal ArticleDOI

Posture influences motor imagery: an fMRI study.

TL;DR: The results indicate that motor imagery generates motor plans that depend on the current configuration of the limbs, and this motor plan is calculated by a parieto-frontal network, which appears to incorporate proprioceptive information related to the current position of the body into the motor plan.

"In Vivo" Brain Size and Intelligence.

TL;DR: Using magnetic resonance imaging, this article found that a larger brain size is associated with higher IQ in 40 college students equally divided by high versus average IQ, and by sex, and found that differences in human brain size are relevant to explaining differences in intelligence test performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

The inhibition of imitative and overlearned responses: a functional double dissociation.

TL;DR: It emerges that response inhibition in the two tasks involves different neural networks, and the inhibition of overlearned responses requires a fronto-parietal network involved in interference control and task management and that of imitative responses involves cortical areas required to distinguish between self-generated and externally triggered motor representations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heritability of lobar brain volumes in twins supports genetic models of cerebral laterality and handedness

TL;DR: The volumes of left and right cerebral cortex in a large cohort of aging identical and fraternal twins and their relationship to handedness were examined, suggesting a large decrement in genetic control of cerebral volumes in the nonright-handed twin pairs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Corpus callosum morphology in children with Tourette syndrome and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

TL;DR: The findings suggest that the area of the CC is larger in children with TS, and that this difference is independent of age, handedness, intracranial area, and the diagnosis of ADHD.

The binomial distribution of right, mixed and left-handedness

TL;DR: Right, mixed and left handers are found in binomial proportions in seven samples of varied subjects whose lateral preferences were ascertained by several methods.

Handedness in musicians

TL;DR: In this article, the authors made an inquiry by means of a questionnaire which included a "handedness inventory" into the prevalence of left-handedness among musicians, and the difficulties, if any, which lefthanders experienced in acquiring executant skills.

Cerebral Dominance and Its Relation To Psychological Function

Randolph K. Byers
- 01 Mar 1963 -
TL;DR: It is true that a few cases of this disease are seen from time to time in Australia; but the patients have been immigrants infected in their country of Orkney in the Mediterranean area.
