Reorganization of the human ipsilesional premotor cortex after stroke
Esteban A. Fridman,Takashi Hanakawa,Melissa Chung,Friedhelm C. Hummel,Ramón Leiguarda,Leonardo G. Cohen +5 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that PMdAH participates as a substrate mediating functional recovery of executive motor function in patients with focal lesions of corticospinal outflow originating in M1 and good motor recovery, consistent with the hypothesis that the dorsal premotor cortex of the affected hemisphere can reorganize to control basic parameters of movement usually assigned to M1 function.

Comparatively weak after-effects of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) on cortical excitability in humans
Andrea Antal,Klára Boros,Csaba Poreisz,Leila Chaieb,Daniella Terney,Daniella Terney,Walter Paulus +6 more
TL;DR: Transcranial application of weak AC current may appear to be a tool for basic and clinical research in diseases with altered EEG activity, however, its effect seems to be weaker than tDCS stimulation, at least in the present context of stimulus intensity and duration.

The N400 as a function of the level of processing.
TL;DR: The results indicate that an N400 priming effect is only evoked when the task performance induces the semantic aspects of words to become part of an episodic trace of the stimulus event.

Aerobic Fitness and Cognitive Development: Event-Related Brain Potential and Task Performance Indices of Executive Control in Preadolescent Children
TL;DR: The data suggest that fitness is associated with better cognitive performance on an executive control task through increased cognitive control, resulting in greater allocation of attentional resources during stimulus encoding and a subsequent reduction in conflict during response selection.

Parcellating cortical functional networks in individuals

Stufflebeam,Kai Wang,Xiaomin Wang,Bo Hong,Hesheng Liu +23 more
TL;DR: A cortical parcellation approach to accurately map functional organization at the individual level using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was developed and validated by invasive cortical stimulation mapping in surgical patients, suggesting potential for use in clinical applications.

The binomial distribution of right, mixed and left-handedness
TL;DR: Right, mixed and left handers are found in binomial proportions in seven samples of varied subjects whose lateral preferences were ascertained by several methods.

Handedness in musicians
TL;DR: In this article, the authors made an inquiry by means of a questionnaire which included a "handedness inventory" into the prevalence of left-handedness among musicians, and the difficulties, if any, which lefthanders experienced in acquiring executant skills.

Cerebral Dominance and Its Relation To Psychological Function
TL;DR: It is true that a few cases of this disease are seen from time to time in Australia; but the patients have been immigrants infected in their country of Orkney in the Mediterranean area.
