Journal ArticleDOI
Energy and protein supplementation of lactating dairy cows offered urea treated whole-crop wheat as the sole forage
J. Hill,J.D. Leaver +1 more
TL;DR: Estimated energy balances indicated that on average 48 MJ ME intake in Experiment 1, and 70 MJ ME Intake in Experiment 2 could not be accounted for in the ME requirements estimated from measured animal performance, which indicates a low efficiency of utilisation of the digested energy of urea-treated whole-crop wheat.
Journal ArticleDOI
The chemical composition of the intensively fed lamb
M. Theriez,M. Tissier,J. Robelin +2 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficiency of energy use for maintenance and gain by growing crossbred Boer and Spanish Goats consuming diets differing in forage level
I. Tovar-Luna,Arthur L Goetsch,Ryszard Puchala,T. Sahlu,G.E. Carstens,H.C. Freetly,Z.B Johnson +6 more
TL;DR: In conclusion, under the conditions of this experiment energy requirements and efficiency of utilization were not different between growing Boer crossbred and Spanish goats regardless of diet quality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of low phosphate intake on bone and mineral metabolism and microbial protein synthesis in lambs.
TL;DR: It is suggested that lack of mineral, rather than reduced ruminal microbial protein synthesis, is the main factor contributing to the reduction in bone formation rate seen in lambs fed low P diets.
Journal ArticleDOI
