Toxicity assessment of pyriproxyfen in vertebrate model zebrafish embryos (Danio rerio): A multi biomarker study.

TLDR
The results showed that severe developmental deformities and changes in heart rate were observed in embryos treated with highest PPF concentration and demonstrate that PPF could cause adverse effect on early developmental stages of zebrafish at higher concentration.

Evaluation of apoptosis, oxidative stress responses, AChE activity and body malformations in zebrafish ( Danio rerio ) embryos exposed to deltamethrin

TL;DR: It can be concluded that DM inhibits the antioxidant enzyme mechanism, increases the cellular apoptosis, malformations and may provide enable us for understanding toxic mechanisms of DM in zebrafish embryos.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toxic effects of naturally-aged microplastics on zebrafish juveniles: A more realistic approach to plastic pollution in freshwater ecosystems.

TL;DR: The present study is pioneer in providing insight on how MPs can affect young freshwater fish at environmental concentrations, because it is essential knowing the magnitude of these pollutants' impact on the ichthyofauna.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sub-lethal toxicity of chlorpyrifos alone and in combination with polyethylene glycol to common carp (Cyprinus carpio).

TL;DR: PEG can have an antagonistic effect on chlorpyrifos toxicity, depending on these two materials concentration, however, chlorp Pyrifos increased the toxicity of PEG.
Journal ArticleDOI

Developmental toxicity and biological responses of zebrafish (Danio rerio) exposed to anti-inflammatory drug ketoprofen.

TL;DR: It is concluded that ketoprofen could have an impact on the development and biological endpoints of the zebra fish at above concentrations and the malformation in the development of the embryo and changes in the biological end points may provide integrated evaluation of the toxic effect of ketoprafen on zebrafish in a new perspective.

Protein Measurement with the Folin Phenol Reagent

TL;DR: Procedures are described for measuring protein in solution or after precipitation with acids or other agents, and for the determination of as little as 0.2 gamma of protein.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new and rapid colorimetric determination of acetylcholinesterase activity.

TL;DR: A photometric method for determining acetylcholinesterase activity of tissue extracts, homogenates, cell suspensions, etc., has been described and Kinetic constants determined by this system for erythrocyte eholinesterases are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stages of embryonic development of the zebrafish.

TL;DR: A series of stages for development of the embryo of the zebrafish, Danio (Brachydanio) rerio is described, providing for flexibility and continued evolution of the staging series as the authors learn more about development in this species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the quantitative and qualitative characterization of erythrocyte glutathione peroxidase

TL;DR: Glutathione peroxidase activity is found to be associated with a relatively stable, nondialyzable, heat-labile, intracellular component which is separable from hemoglobin, by gel filtration and ammonium sulfate precipitation.
Journal ArticleDOI

A simple technique for quantitation of low levels of DNA damage in individual cells

TL;DR: Human lymphocytes were exposed to X-irradiation or treated with H2O2 and the extent of DNA migration was measured using a single-cell microgel electrophoresis technique under alkaline conditions and this technique appears to be sensitive and useful for detecting damage and repair in single cells.
