Design of low-voltage active mixer for direct conversion receivers

TL;DR: The evolution and design trade-offs of a high performance, low-voltage downconversion mixer for wireless direct conversion receivers (DCR) are studied and a different mixer topology that provides high conversion gain without deteriorating the linearity and noise performance is discussed.

Method and apparatus for reducing power consumption in transceivers in wireless communications systems having a power control loop

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose an apparatus for use by a first transceiver in saving power when communicating over a wireless communication system with a second transceiver, the first having an operating cycle including an interval in which it sends transmit power requests to the second, the power requests being made based on measurements of the signal received by the first and performed in an interval of the operating cycle in which the operational parameters correspond to a power control measurement state.

A channel selection filter for a WCDMA direct conversion receiver

TL;DR: In this article, a channel selection filter for a WCDMA direct conversion receiver is described, which achieves +25dBV out-of-band IIP3, + 77dBV IIP2 and 9.4nV/√Hz input-referred noise density.

5GCHAMPION – Disruptive 5G Technologies for Roll‐Out in 2018

TL;DR: This article focuses on a subset of three disruptive technological solutions developed and experimented on by 5GCHAMPION during the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games: high speed communications, direct satellite‐user equipment communications, and post‐sale evolution of wireless equipment through software reconfiguration.
