Journal ArticleDOI

Burden and aetiology of diarrhoeal disease in infants and young children in developing countries (the Global Enteric Multicenter Study, GEMS): a prospective, case-control study.

TL;DR: Interventions targeting five pathogens can substantially reduce the burden of moderate-to-severe diarrhoea and suggest new methods and accelerated implementation of existing interventions (rotavirus vaccine and zinc) are needed to prevent disease and improve outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI

The immunogenicity and impact on nasopharyngeal carriage of fewer doses of conjugate pneumococcal vaccine immunization schedule.

TL;DR: The differences in antibody responses and pneumococcal carriage between the groups diminished following booster with PPV, implying that administration of one or two doses of PCV7, with a booster dose of PPV might lower the cost of protection against IPD in young children in resource poor countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
