TL;DR: This review presents methods that could be applied at the outset of any project, a prioritized list of alternate strategies and a list of pitfalls that trip many new investigators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interfacial activation of the lipase-procolipase complex by mixed micelles revealed by X-ray crystallography.
TL;DR: The three-dimensional structure of the lipase–-procolipase complex, co-crystallized with mixed micelles of phosphatidylcholine and bile salt, has been determined at 3 Å resolution by X-ray crystallography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of an RNA virus 3'->5' exoribonuclease that is critically involved in coronavirus RNA synthesis
Ekaterina Minskaia,Tobias Hertzig,Alexander E. Gorbalenya,Alexander E. Gorbalenya,Valérie Campanacci,Christian Cambillau,Bruno Canard,Bruno Canard,John Ziebuhr +8 more
TL;DR: The study identifies an RNA virus ExoN activity that is involved in the synthesis of multiple RNAs from the exceptionally large genomic RNA templates of CoVs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recognition of antigens by single-domain antibody fragments: the superfluous luxury of paired domains
TL;DR: The mutations and structural adaptations that have taken place to reshape a VH of a Vh-VL pair into a single-domain VHH with retention of a sufficient variability are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fusarium solani cutinase is a lipolytic enzyme with a catalytic serine accessible to solvent.
TL;DR: The three-dimensional structure of a recombinant cutinase from F. solani pisi is reported, an α–β protein; the active site is composed of the triad Ser 120, His 188 and Asp 175, and the catalytic serine is not buried under surface loops, but is accessible to solvent.
