Processed and Unprocessed Red Meat and Risk of Colorectal Cancer: Analysis by Tumor Location and Modification by Time.
Adam M. Bernstein,Mingyang Song,Xuehong Zhang,An Pan,Molin Wang,Charles S. Fuchs,Ngoan Tran Le,Andrew T. Chan,Walter C. Willett,Shuji Ogino,Edward Giovannucci,Kana Wu +11 more
TL;DR: In these two large cohorts of US health professionals, processed red meat intake was positively associated with risk of CRC, particularly distal cancer, with little evidence that higher intake of unprocessed red meat substantially increasedrisk of CRC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intakes of energy and macronutrients and the risk of benign prostatic hyperplasia
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relation between macronutrient intake and BPH risk among men in the Health Professionals Follow-up Study and observed modest direct associations between BPH and intakes of total energy, protein, and specific long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intakes of vitamins A, C and E and folate and multivitamins and lung cancer: a pooled analysis of 8 prospective studies.
Eunyoung Cho,David J. Hunter,Donna Spiegelman,Demetrius Albanes,W. Lawrence Beeson,Piet A. van den Brandt,Graham A. Colditz,Diane Feskanich,Aaron R. Folsom,Gary E. Fraser,Jo L. TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined associations in a pooled analysis of the primary data from 8 prospective studies from North America and Europe using a random-effects model, and concluded that the results generally did not differ across studies or by sex, smoking habits and lung cancer cell type.
Journal ArticleDOI
Western Dietary Pattern Increases, and Prudent Dietary Pattern Decreases, Risk of Incident Diverticulitis in a Prospective Cohort Study
Lisa L. Strate,Brieze R Keeley,Yin Cao,Kana Wu,Edward Giovannucci,Edward Giovannucci,Andrew T. Chan,Andrew T. Chan +7 more
TL;DR: In a prospective cohort study of 46,295 men, a Western dietary pattern was associated with increased risk of diverticulitis, and a prudent pattern wasassociated with decreased risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glycaemic index and glycaemic load in relation to risk of diabetes-related cancers: a meta-analysis.
TL;DR: The findings of the present study suggest a modest-to-weak association between a diet that induces a high glucose response and DRC risks.
