TL;DR: A modestly increased risk of subsequent malignancies among individuals with a history of NMSC is found, specifically breast and lung cancer in women and melanoma in both men and women.
Journal ArticleDOI
Circulating 25-Hydroxyvitamin D and Risk of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: Cohort Consortium Vitamin D Pooling Project of Rarer Cancers
Mark P. Purdue,D. Michal Freedman,Susan M. Gapstur,Kathy J. Helzlsouer,Francine Laden,Unhee Lim,Gertraud Maskarinec,Nathaniel Rothman,Xiao-Ou Shu,Victoria L. TL;DR: The hypothesis that elevated circulating 25(OH)D concentration is associated with a reduced risk of NHL is not supported, and future research investigating the biologic basis for the sunlight–NHL association should consider alternative mechanisms, such as immunologic effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Dietary patterns with high inflammatory potential are found to be associated with increased risk of Crohn's disease but not UC.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, a combined analysis of 16 studies of colorectal cancer was conducted to examine the shape of the alcohol-CRC association, investigate potential effect modifiers of the association, and examine differential effects of alcohol consumption by cancer anatomic site and stage.

TL;DR: The observed inverse association between aspirin use and liver cancer in this study, together with previous data, suggests the merit of future intervention studies of aspirin and other agents that affect chronic inflammatory pathways for HCC and possibly ICC.
