TL;DR: In this article, the SNP microarray intensity data of 38,303 women from cancer genome-wide association studies (20,878 cases and 17,425 controls) was analyzed and detected 124 mosaic X events > 2 1/mb in 97 (0.25%) women.
Journal ArticleDOI
Survival Among Patients With Pancreatic Cancer and Long-Standing or Recent-Onset Diabetes Mellitus
Chen Yuan,Douglas A. Rubinson,Zhi Rong Qian,Chen Wu,Peter Kraft,Ying Bao,Shuji Ogino,Kimmie Ng,Thomas E. Clancy,Richard Swanson,Megan J. Gorman,Lauren K. Brais,Tingting Li,Meir J. Stampfer,Frank B. Hu,Edward Giovannucci,Matthew H. Kulke,Charles S. Fuchs,Brian M. Wolpin +18 more
TL;DR: Long-standing diabetes was associated with statistically significantly decreased survival among patients with pancreatic cancer enrolled onto three longitudinal studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Marine ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid intake and survival after colorectal cancer diagnosis
Mingyang Song,Xuehong Zhang,Jeffrey A. Meyerhardt,Edward Giovannucci,Shuji Ogino,Shuji Ogino,Charles S. Fuchs,Charles S. Fuchs,Andrew T. Chan +8 more
TL;DR: High marine ω-3 PUFA intake after CRC diagnosis is associated with lower risk of CRC-specific mortality, and increasing consumption of marine υ3 PUFAs after diagnosis may confer additional benefits to patients with CRC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glycemic Load, Glycemic Index, and Carbohydrate Intake in Relation to Risk of Cholecystectomy in Women
Chung-Jyi Tsai,Chung-Jyi Tsai,Michael F. Leitzmann,Walter C. Willett,Walter C. Willett,Edward Giovannucci,Edward Giovannucci +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that a higher intake of carbohydrate, dietary glycemic load, and glycemic index may enhance risk of cholecystectomy in women.
Journal ArticleDOI
Negative lymph node count is associated with survival of colorectal cancer patients, independent of tumoral molecular alterations and lymphocytic reaction.
Shuji Ogino,Katsuhiko Nosho,Natsumi Irahara,Kaori Shima,Yoshifumi Baba,Gregory J. Kirkner,Mari Mino-Kenudson,Edward Giovannucci,Jeffrey A. Meyerhardt,Charles S. Fuchs +9 more
TL;DR: The negative lymph node count is associated with improved survival of colorectal cancer patients, independent of lymphocytic reactions to tumor and tumoral molecular features including MSI, CIMP, LINE-1 hypomethylation and BRAF mutation.
