Proceedings Article

Effects of wavelength and doping concentration on silicon damage threshold

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that threshold fluence does not decrease with increasing doping concentration and its dependence on wavelength is weak, with photon energies above or below bandgap, indicating that impact ionization is the dominating mechanism.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Terahertz pulse imaging of stratified architectural materials for cultural heritage studies

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used TPI for the examination of cultural heritage artifacts, including wall paintings and fresco paintings, from a neolithic excavation site in Catalhoyuk, Turkey, and specimens measured at the medieval Eglise de Saint Jean-Baptiste in Vif, France.
Journal ArticleDOI

Angular emission and polarization dependence of harmonics from laser–solid interactions

TL;DR: In this article, high order harmonic emission up to the 18th order was characterized using high rep rate mJ level laser pulses at relativistic intensities, and the harmonic divergence was found to be less than 4° (full width at half-maximum) at highest intensity and increased as the laser was defocused (i.e. as the intensity was reduced).
Journal ArticleDOI

Quasi-flat-top frequency-doubled Nd:glass laser for pumping of high-power Ti:sapphire amplifiers at a 0.1 Hz repetition rate.

TL;DR: In this article, a Nd:glass laser based on a novel design delivers up to 120 J energy pulses with a quasi-flat-top spatial profile at a 0.1 Hz repetition rate.
