Swarm Intelligence-Enhanced Detection of Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer Using Tumor-Educated Platelets

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that particle-swarm optimization-enhanced algorithms enable efficient selection of RNA biomarker panels from platelet RNA-sequencing libraries to diagnose cancer from TEPs, suggesting that swarm intelligence may also benefit the optimization of diagnostics readout of other liquid biopsy biosources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection and localization of early- and late-stage cancers using platelet RNA.

Sjors G J G In 't Veld, +115 more
- 30 Aug 2022 -
TL;DR: In this article , a tumor-educated platelet (TEP) RNA-based blood tests enable the detection of 18 cancer types with 99% specificity in asymptomatic controls.
Journal ArticleDOI

ALL-tRNAseq enables robust tRNA profiling in tissue samples.

TL;DR: The ALL-tRNAseq method as mentioned in this paper combines the highly processive MarathonRT and RNA demethylation for the robust assessment of tRNA expression, together with a randomized adapter ligation strategy prior to reverse transcription to assess tRNA fragmentation levels in both cell lines and tissues.
