TL;DR: A comprehensive overview of the current understanding of the physiological roles of EVs is provided, drawing on the unique EV expertise of academia-based scientists, clinicians and industry based in 27 European countries, the United States and Australia.
Journal Article
Frameshift mutations at mononucleotide repeats in caspase-5 and other target genes in endometrial and gastrointestinal cancer of the microsatellite mutator phenotype.
TL;DR: Endometrial carcinoma of the MMP also accumulates mutations in genes that are typically mutated in gastrointestinal cancer of the mutator pathway, including BAX, hMSH3, and h MSH6, and caspase-5 is suggested as a new target gene in the microsatellite mutator pathways for cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of necrotic cell death by the TUNEL assay in the hypoxic-ischemic neonatal rat brain.
TL;DR: Results, obtained in a paradigm of necrosis in the immature brain, add to previous evidence suggesting that some forms of non-apoptotic DNA fragmentation are labeled by the TUNEL assay.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of osteoporosis during long-term androgen deprivation therapy in patients with prostate cancer.
Juan Morote,Jacques Planas Morin,Anna Orsola,Jose M. Abascal,Carles Salvador,Enrique Trilla,Carles X. Raventós,Lluís Cecchini,Encabo G,Jaume Reventós +9 more
TL;DR: The prevalence of osteoporosis seemed high in hormone-naive patients with prostate cancer, and it increased to more than 80% after 10 years ofADT, and clinicians should be aware of the impact of ADT on BMD to prevent bone mass loss.
Journal ArticleDOI
Specific interaction of tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) with annexin II on the membrane of pancreatic cancer cells activates plasminogen and promotes invasion in vitro
TL;DR: T-PA specifically binds to annexin II on the extracellular membrane of pancreatic cancer cells where it activates local plasmin production and tumour cell invasion.
