Journal ArticleDOI
The receptor SIGIRR suppresses Th17 cell proliferation via inhibition of the interleukin-1 receptor pathway and mTOR kinase activation.
Muhammet F. Gulen,Zizhen Kang,Katarzyna Bulek,Wan Youzhong,Tae Whan Kim,Yi Chen,Cengiz Z. Altuntas,Kristian Sass Bak-Jensen,Mandy J. McGeachy,Jeong Su Do,Hui Xiao,Greg M. Delgoffe,Booki Min,Jonathan D. Powell,Vincent K. Tuohy,Daniel J. Cua,Xiaoxia Li,Xiaoxia Li +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that SIGIRR, a negative regulator of IL-1 receptor and Toll-like receptor signaling, was induced during Th17 cell lineage commitment and governed Th 17 cell differentiation and expansion through its inhibitory effects on IL- 1 signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cutting Edge: Spontaneous Development of IL-17–Producing γδ T Cells in the Thymus Occurs via a TGF-β1–Dependent Mechanism
Jeong Su Do,Pamela J. Fink,Lily Li,Lily Li,Rosanne Spolski,Janet Robinson,Warren J. Leonard,John J. Letterio,Booki Min +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that TGF-β1 plays a key role in the generation of IL-17+ γδ T cells and that it mainly occurs in the thymus particularly during the postnatal period.
Journal ArticleDOI
T cell-intrinsic ASC critically promotes TH17-mediated experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis
Bradley N. Martin,Bradley N. Martin,Chenhui Wang,Chenhui Wang,Cun Jin Zhang,Cun Jin Zhang,Zizhen Kang,Muhammet F. Gulen,Jarod A. Zepp,Junjie Zhao,Guanglin Bian,Jeong Su Do,Booki Min,Paul G. Pavicic,Caroline El-Sanadi,Paul L. Fox,Aoi Akitsu,Yoichiro Iwakura,Anasuya Sarkar,Mark D. Wewers,William J. Kaiser,Edward S. Mocarski,Marc E. Rothenberg,Amy G. Hise,George R. Dubyak,Richard M. Ransohoff,Xiaoxia Li +26 more
TL;DR: A critical role is revealed for IL-1β produced by a TH17 cell–intrinsic ASC–NLRP3–caspase-8 inflammasome during inflammation of the central nervous system.
Journal ArticleDOI
T cell-derived IL-3 plays key role in parasite infection-induced basophil production but is dispensable for in vivo basophil survival.
Tao Shen,Sohee Kim,Jeong Su Do,Lu Wang,Chris S. Lantz,Joseph F. Urban,Graham Le Gros,Booki Min +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that IL-3 produced by T cells activated by the infection enhances basophil production in Nb-infected mice, highlighting a novel mechanism by which activation of adaptive immune components induces basophIL production but not basophils survival via IL- 3 production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epithelial cell-specific Act1 adaptor mediates interleukin-25-dependent helminth expulsion through expansion of Lin−c-Kit+ innate cell population
Zizhen Kang,Shadi Swaidani,Weiguo Yin,Chenhui Wang,Jillian L. Barlow,Muhammet F. Gulen,Katarzyna Bulek,Jeong Su Do,Mark A. Aronica,Andrew N. J. McKenzie,Booki Min,Xiaoxia Li +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that epithelial-specific Act1 mediates the expansion of the Lin(-)c-Kit(+) innate cell population through the positive-feedback loop of IL-25, initiating the type 2 immunity against helminth infection.
