TL;DR: Overall, the uptake of carbon into Earth’s intact tropical forests peaked in the 1990s and independent observations indicating greater recent carbon uptake into the Northern Hemisphere landmass reinforce the conclusion that the intact tropical forest carbon sink has already peaked.

Low stocks of coarse woody debris in a southwest Amazonian forest

TL;DR: Estimates of CWD stocks and annual CWD inputs from forests in southern Peru indicate that these sites have not experienced a recent, large-scale disturbance event and emphasise the distinctive, rapid nature of carbon cycling in these western Amazonian forests.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug discovery needs to change
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that, to find new antibiotics, researchers need to leave the old molecules behind and take different approaches, and that, in order to solve the problem of antibiotic resistance, they need to take a different approach.
