Local Air–Sea Relationship in Observations and Model Simulations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the local simultaneous correlation between rainfall and sea surface temperature (SST) between observations, coupled general circulation model (CGCM) simulations, and stand-alone atmospheric AGCM simulations and found large discrepancies in the subtropics, midlatitudes, and tropical Indo-western Pacific Ocean regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Current and emerging developments in subseasonal to decadal prediction

William J. Merryfield, +64 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors surveyed the state of S2S and S2D prediction, ongoing research, and future needs, providing an ideal basis for synthesizing current and emerging developments in these areas that promise to enhance future operational services.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Impact of Air–Sea Interactions on the Simulation of Tropical Intraseasonal Variability

TL;DR: In this article, the impact of coupled air-sea feedbacks on the simulation of tropical intraseasonal variability was investigated using the National Centers for Environmental Prediction Climate Forecast System.
