Identifying high-risk comorbidities of short and long-term opioid prescription use
Mariela V Jennings,Hyunjoon Lee,Daniel B. Rocha,Sevim B Bianchi,Brandon J. Coombes,Richard C. Crist,Annika Faucon,Yirui Hu,Rachel L. Kember,Travis T. Mallard,Maria Niarchou,Melissa N Poulsen,Peter Straub,Richard D. Urman,Colin G. Walsh,PsycheMERGE Substance Use Disorder Workgroup,Lea K. Davis,Jordan W. Smoller,Vanessa Troiani,Sandra Sanchez-Roige +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors defined three groups based on levels of opioid exposure: No Prescription, Minimal Exposure (2 prescriptions within 90 days at least once, but never 3 prescriptions <90 days apart), and Chronic Exposure (≥10 opioid prescriptions in a year), and compared them to the full registries and patients with OUD diagnostic codes.

TL;DR: This first multi-ancestry genome-wide association study of major depression demonstrates the importance of large diverse samples for the identification of target genes and putative mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic Thyrotropin Regulation of Atrial Fibrillation Risk Is Mediated Through an Effect on Height.
Mingjian Shi,Ali Manouchehri,Christian M. Shaffer,Nataraja Sarma Vaitinadin,Jacklyn N. Hellwege,Joe-Elie Salem,Lea K. Davis,Jill H. Simmons,Dan M. Roden,Dan M. Roden,M. Benjamin Shoemaker,Jane F. Ferguson,Jonathan D. Mosley +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to test associations between TSH-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and 16 candidate mediators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bridging Molecular Genetics and Epidemiology to Better Understand Sex Differences in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Usefulness of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms as Predictors of Sudden Cardiac Death.
Leonardo Tamariz,Leonardo Tamariz,Javier Balda,Dennise Pareja,Dennise Pareja,Ana Palacio,Ana Palacio,Robert J. Myerburg,Douglas Conway,Lea K. Davis,Jeffrey J. Goldberger +10 more
TL;DR: Many SNPs are associated with SCD, with the strongest associations seen in SNPs of genes related to intracellular calcium handling, primarily using a candidate gene strategy in white patients with European descent.
