Feasibility study for the use of Ce3+-doped optical fibres in radiotherapy

TL;DR: Improvements are nevertheless still required in order to allow a real-time evaluation of the Cherenkov radiation produced by the irradiated portion of the passive optical fibre, which influences some of the dosimetric properties of the system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ce-doped optical fibre as radioluminescent dosimeter in radiotherapy

TL;DR: The punctual dimension of the doped fibre diameter was exploited in the characterization of stereotactic fields, providing results in agreement with those obtained using a micro-ionization chamber.
Journal ArticleDOI

Being oneself through time: Bases of self-continuity across 55 cultures*

Maja Becker, +59 more
- 04 May 2018 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors tested a tripartite theoretical model of bases of self-continuity, including stability, sense of narrative, and associative links to one's past, to predict the extent to which people derived a sense of self continuity from different aspects of their identities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Set-up errors and planning target volume margins in head and neck cancer radiotherapy: a clinical study of image guidance with on-line cone-beam computed tomography

TL;DR: Kilovoltage CBCT is effective in evaluating set-up accuracy in H&N patients and some special situations, such as re-irradiation or the close proximity of organs at risk and high-dose regions, could benefit from daily image registration and lower PTV margins.
