Pneumococcal lineages associated with serotype replacement and antibiotic resistance in childhood invasive pneumococcal disease in the post-PCV13 era: an international whole-genome sequencing study.

Stephanie W. Lo, +89 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a whole-genome sequenced 3233 invasive pneumococcal disease isolates from laboratory-based surveillance programs in Hong Kong (n=78), Israel, South Africa, Malawi, Nigeria, The Gambia, and USA were collected from children younger than 3 years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meningococcal serogroup Y disease in Europe: Continuation of high importance in some European regions in 2013

TL;DR: Additional data from 30 European countries are reported indicating that high or increased serogroup Y disease levels have continued in 2013 in certain regions of Europe, and the age distribution of serogroups Y was bimodal and did not change significantly despite the increase of the total number and the proportion of serogsroup Y IMD in some European regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Emergence of a multidrug-resistant and virulent Streptococcus pneumoniae lineage mediates serotype replacement after PCV13: an international whole-genome sequencing study

Stephanie W. Lo, +100 more
- 01 Aug 2022 -
TL;DR: In this article , a whole-genome sequencing was performed on a collection of serotype 24F pneumococci from asymptomatic colonisation and invasive disease isolates among individuals younger than 18 years in France, from 2003 to 2018.
