Comprehensive human cell-type methylation atlas reveals origins of circulating cell-free DNA in health and disease
Joshua Moss,Judith Magenheim,Daniel Neiman,Hai Zemmour,Netanel Loyfer,Amit Korach,Yaacov Samet,Myriam Maoz,Henrik Druid,Peter Arner,Keng Yeh Fu,Endre Kiss,Kirsty L. Spalding,Kirsty L. Spalding,Giora Landesberg,Aviad Zick,Albert Grinshpun,A. M. James Shapiro,Markus Grompe,Avigail Dreazan Wittenberg,Benjamin Glaser,Ruth Shemer,Tommy Kaplan,Yuval Dor +23 more
TL;DR: Deconvolution of cfDNA from patients reveals tissue contributions that agree with clinical findings in sepsis, islet transplantation, cancer of the colon, lung, breast and prostate, and cancer of unknown primary.
Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of adipose triglyceride lipase and hormone-sensitive lipase to lipolysis in hMADS adipocytes.
Véronic Bezaire,Véronic Bezaire,Aline Mairal,Aline Mairal,Carole Ribet,Carole Ribet,Corinne Lefort,Corinne Lefort,Amandine Girousse,Amandine Girousse,Johan W. E. Jocken,Jurga Laurencikiene,Rodica Anesia,Rodica Anesia,Anne-Marie Rodriguez,Mikael Rydén,Britta M Stenson,Christian Dani,Gérard Ailhaud,Peter Arner,Dominique Langin,Dominique Langin +21 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the roles of HSL, ATGL, and its coactivator CGI-58 in basal and forskolin-stimulated lipolysis in a human white adipocyte model, the hMADS cells suggest that ATGL/CGI-58 acts independently of H SL and precedes its action in the sequential hydrolysis of triglycerides in human hM ADS adipocytes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strong association between mitochondrial DNA copy number and lipogenesis in human white adipose tissue
Maria Kaaman,Lauren M. Sparks,Vanessa van Harmelen,Steven R. Smith,Eva Sjölin,Ingrid Dahlman,Peter Arner +6 more
TL;DR: The mtDNA copy number in human white fat cells is fairly stable within healthy individuals and is not important for overall insulin sensitivity or energy expenditure at rest, suggesting that adipocyte mitochondria are, above all, local regulators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased Lipolysis and Decreased Leptin Production by Human Omental as Compared With Subcutaneous Preadipocytes
Vanessa van Harmelen,Andrea Dicker,Mikael Rydén,Hans Hauner,Fredrik Lönnqvist,Erik Näslund,Peter Arner +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, lipolysis and leptin and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha secretion were compared between human omental and subcutaneous preadipocytes after 16 days of incubation in a minimal differentiation medium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Altered Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α) Processing in Adipocytes and Increased Expression of Transmembrane TNF-α in Obesity
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the 26-kDa mTNF-α is present in adipose tissue and that its production is significantly increased in different rodent obesity models as well as in obese humans.
