Microbial batteries with re-oxidizable solid-state electrodes for conversion of chemical potential energy into electrical energy

TL;DR: In this article, a microbial battery is provided, where the anode provides electrons to an external circuit, and the cathode is a solid state composition capable of receiving the electrons from the external circuit and changing from an oxidized cathode composition to a reduced one.
Journal ArticleDOI

Compressive Strength Enhancement in Early Age Acid Activated Mortars: Mechanical Properties and Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper , different types and proportions of acids were mixed into mortars to increase the hydration reaction rate and the amount of hydration products, and the effects of the acid type and content on the early compressive strength of cement-based materials and the strengthening mechanism were assessed via X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectrum analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Double‐sided transistor device processability of carrierless ultrathin silicon wafers

TL;DR: In this article, double-sided metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor processing is demonstrated on an ultrathin crystalline silicon substrate of 6-20 μm in a 100 mm diameter wafer format without a carrier wafer, the thinnest freestanding silicon wafers ever fabricated.

Hexacyanometallates as highly conducting solid electrolytes for batteries

TL;DR: In this article, a solid-state lithium-ion battery is described, comprising a cathode, an anode, and a solid state electrolyte disposed between the cathode and the anode.
