Blade-Type Reaction Front in Micrometer-Sized Germanium Particles during Lithiation.

TL;DR: To investigate the lithium transport mechanism in micrometer-sized germanium (Ge) particles, in situ Focused Ion Beam-Scanning Electron Microscopy was used and showed that the interface between amorphous LixGe and Ge has a wedge shape due to the higher Li transport rate on the surface of the particle.

Conformal graphene cage encapsulated battery electrode materials and methods of forming thereof

TL;DR: In this article, a conformal graphene-encapsulated battery electrode material is formed by growing graphene on the metal catalyst-coated battery electrodes to form a graphene cage encapsulating the metal catalysts.
Journal ArticleDOI

CAF-1 and Rtt101p function within the replication-coupled chromatin assembly network to promote H4 K16ac, preventing ectopic silencing.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated factors that function in this CAF-1-dependent pathway are important for preventing establishment of silenced states at inappropriate genomic sites using a crippled HMR locus as a model, while factors specific to other assembly pathways do not.

Nanopillar electrode devices and methods of recording action potentials

TL;DR: In this paper, a nanopillar electrode device, comprising a substrate patterned with a plurality of metal pads, is described, where each nanopillars electrode array is attached to the substrate above a metal pad and electrically connected to the pad.
