TL;DR: In this article, a branch-and-cut algorithm is proposed to solve the production routing problem with demand uncertainty in two-stage and multistage decision processes, where the decisions in the first stage include production setups and customer visit schedules, while the production and delivery quantities are determined in the subsequent stages.
Abstract: The production routing problem (PRP) is a generalization of the inventory routing problem and concerns the production and distribution of a single product from a production plant to multiple customers using capacitated vehicles in a discrete- and finite-time horizon. In this study, we consider the stochastic PRP with demand uncertainty in two-stage and multistage decision processes. The decisions in the first stage include production setups and customer visit schedules, while the production and delivery quantities are determined in the subsequent stages. We introduce formulations for the two problems, which can be solved by a branch-and-cut algorithm. To handle a large number of scenarios, we propose a Benders decomposition approach, which is implemented in a single branch-and-bound tree and enhanced through lower-bound lifting inequalities, scenario group cuts, and Pareto-optimal cuts. For the multistage problem, we also use a warm start procedure that relies on the solution of the simpler two-stage prob...

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors synthesize the growing BT, SFR, and PHC literatures by systematically reviewing 236 articles across 21 years using an integrative conceptual framework, and showcase how the mature field of SFR in concert with the younger but prolific BT and product-harm crisis fields can enrich one another while jointly advancing a broad and unified discipline of negative events in marketing.
Abstract: Research studies on brand transgression (BT), service failure and recovery (SFR), and product-harm crisis (PHC) appear to have a common focus, yet the three streams developed surprisingly independently and with limited reference to one another. This situation is unfortunate because all three fields study a similar phenomenon by using complementary conceptualizations, theories, and methods; we argue that this development in silos represents an unnecessary obstacle to the development of a common discipline. In response, this review synthesizes the growing BT, SFR, and PHC literatures by systematically reviewing 236 articles across 21 years using an integrative conceptual framework. In doing so, we showcase how the mature field of SFR in concert with the younger but prolific BT and PHC fields can enrich one another while jointly advancing a broad and unified discipline of negative events in marketing. Through this process, we provide and explicate seven overarching insights across three major themes (theory, dynamic aspects, and method) to encourage researchers to contribute to the interface between these three important fields. The review concludes with academic contributions and practical implications.

TL;DR: This paper investigated the influence of culture on pro-environmental knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours of Canadian consumers and found that French-Canadians are more knowledgeable and concerned about ecological issues, perceive that it is important to behave in an environmentally friendly fashion, believe that most corporations are acting responsibly toward the environment and consider environmental issues to a greater extent when making a purchase.
Abstract: The past few decades have been undoubtedly characterized by rapid globalization and increased concerns about environmental problems. This research investigates the influence of culture on pro-environmental knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours of Canadian consumers. Results indicate that French-Canadians, as opposed to their English counterparts, (a) are more knowledgeable and concerned about ecological issues, (b) perceive that it is important to behave in an environmentally friendly fashion, (c) believe that most corporations are acting responsibly toward the environment, and (d) consider environmental issues to a greater extent when making a purchase. However, English-Canadians are more likely to recycle and are more willing to pay a premium price for ecologically compatible products. Cross-cultural disparities were also found with respect to the classic “knowledge-attitude-behaviour” model. Implications for marketers and policy-makers as well as opportunities for future research are discussed.

TL;DR: The authors investigated the role of ownership structure and investor protection in postprivatization corporate governance and found that the government relinquishes control over time, mainly to the benefit of local institutions and foreign investors.
Abstract: We investigate the role of ownership structure and investor protection in postprivatization corporate governance. We find that the government relinquishes control over time, mainly to the benefit of local institutions and foreign investors. We also show that private ownership tends to concentrate over time. In addition to firm-level variables, investor protection, political and social stability explain the cross-firm differences in ownership concentration. We find that the positive effect of ownership concentration on firm performance matters more in countries with weak investor protection and that private domestic ownership leads to higher performance.

TL;DR: In this article, a construction heuristic and an adaptive large neighborhood search heuristic for the technician and task scheduling problem arising in a large telecommunications company were proposed, which tied for second place in the 2007 ROADEF challenge.
Abstract: This paper proposes a construction heuristic and an adaptive large neighborhood search heuristic for the technician and task scheduling problem arising in a large telecommunications company. This problem was solved within the framework of the 2007 challenge set up by the French Operational Research Society (ROADEF). The paper describes the authors' entry in the competition which tied for second place.
