TL;DR: A group of twenty discrete spacers suitable for photometric characterization of humic acids (HAs) after their isotachophoretic (ITP) separation at pH 10 was found and reproducible ITP profiles (fingerprints) of the studied humic preparation were achieved under the developed working conditions.

TL;DR: The paper demonstrates a relatively new perspective application of data envelopment analysis (DEA) in the optimization of urban public transport systems and offers suggestions to improve efficiency of the UPT so that the balance between supply and demand for transport services is maintained.
Abstract: The paper demonstrates a relatively new perspective application of data envelopment analysis (DEA) in the optimization of urban public transport (UPT) systems. For this goal a special two-phase approach is used. The first phase consists of applying a special adjusted DEA model—input oriented hybrid model with non-controllable and bounded inputs with categorical decision making units under constant returns to scale—for evaluating efficiency of UPT lines and for obtaining recommendations for improving their efficiency. Based on the recommendations from the first phase, in the second phase a possible assignment of dispatched vehicles of inefficient UPT lines is proposed. The results of the conducted analysis offer suggestions to improve efficiency of the UPT so that the balance between supply and demand for transport services is maintained. The proposed method is applied to the UPT system in a Slovak city, Banska Bystrica.

TL;DR: A significant, light-induced pKa change of three units in aqueous medium has been realized for two thermally stable states, which can be interconverted using UV and green light.
Abstract: Photoswitchable acid-base pairs, whose pKa values can be reversibly altered, are attractive molecular tools to control chemical and biological processes with light. A significant, light-induced pKa change of three units in aqueous medium has been realized for two thermally stable states, which can be interconverted using UV and green light. The light-induced pKa modulation is based on incorporating a 3-H-thiazol-2-one moiety into the framework of a diarylethene photoswitch, which loses the heteroaromatic stabilization of the negatively charged conjugate base upon photochemical ring closure, and hence becomes significantly less acidic. In addition, the efficiency of the photoreactions is drastically increased in the deprotonated state, giving rise to catalytically enhanced photochromism. It appears that protonation has a significant influence on the shape of the ground- and excited-state potential energy surfaces, as indicated by quantum-chemical calculations.

TL;DR: It is found that it is possible to prevent from deviations in backbone functional state and preservation of its functional level in fit-ball aerobic trainings, which resulted in confident improvement of indicators of backbone mobility.
Abstract: Purpose: to work out complex of health related aerobic exercises with fit-ball for girl students, who have significant risk of backbone pathologies. Material: in the research 1st-3rd year girl students (n=50, age – 15-17 years) participated. Questionnaire for assessment of self feeling was used. For diagnostic of backbone mobility we used criterion of functional disorders and trainings effectiveness assessment. The diagnostic included eight tests for every girl student of risk group - Cervical spine mobility, Otta’s test, Chest excursion, Shober’s test, Tomayer’s test, Pavelky’s (left) test, Pavelky’s (right) test and Backbone index. The main research method was pedagogic experiment. Results: it was found that 50% of 1st year girl students have pain in back. Average level of backbone mobility (backbone index) in the tested group was 86.9% from approximate norm at the end of the research. Conclusions: we found that it is possible to prevent from deviations in backbone functional state and preservation of its functional level in fit-ball aerobic trainings. Fit-ball aerobic trainings resulted in confident improvement of indicators of backbone mobility.
