TL;DR: This paper shows that, when assessing physical effort, one can consider not only the results of physical tests but also the reaction of the body to a given physical load, which prevents overloading and sets directions for rational sports training.
Abstract: The essence of a sports training includes not only developing the skills necessary in a chosen sport but also particular care about athlete's health. This issue should be taken into account especially in case of children and youth engaged in sporting activities. In the paper there are issues connected to the control of physical effort abilities in the sports training of young football players and the assessment of the reaction of the body to physical exercise in city smog conditions (the environment of the city of Krakow) and clean air conditions (the environment of the town of Glucholazy). This paper shows that, when assessing physical effort, one can consider not nly the results of physical tests but also the reaction of the body to a given physical load. One should remember that physical load depends not only on the methods used and the range of intensity, but also on the environmental conditions, like the quality of the air. Determining the reaction of the body to physical load (performance tests), taking into account the conditions in which the training takes place, prevents overloading and sets directions for rational sports training. The analysis of the results of the study leads to three main conclusions: (1) The planning of sports training has to consider not only the methods and means of the training but also environmental factors (air pollution); (2) Physical effort in smog conditions should be done with the use of antismog face masks; (3) The arrangement of sports training (particularly for youth) should strictly take into account the environment in which the training takes place.

Abstract: The paper deals with the current challenge of population ageing. International organisations, institutions as well as national governments are looking for ways to solve this problem. Slovakia is also one of the countries that must take measures to mitigate the consequences of this process. Specific attention is paid to the so-called active ageing. It examines ways and forms of active ageing as the lifestyle of seniors (work, education, cultural, sports and other leisure activities). The paper brings the results of representative empirical research on the lives of Slovak households. It identifies seniors’ predominant ways of spending time in relation to their own family, intergenerational

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the ability of conductive rubber and conductive ink to act as transducers between pressure and electrical quantities by means of measurement on a robotized workspace; two electrode types and various ink layer thicknesses were studied.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed new quantitative characteristics for discrete dynamical systems called degrees of transitivity, weak mixing and strong mixing, which are numbers from [0, 1] for dynamical system on a large class of compact metric spaces.
Abstract: We suggest new quantitative characteristics for discrete dynamical systems called degrees of transitivity, weak mixing and strong mixing These are numbers from [0, 1] For dynamical systems on a large class of compact metric spaces we show that the system is topologically transitive if and only if its degree of transitivity equals 1 and similarly for weak mixing and strong mixing On the other hand we construct a simple dynamical system on the unit interval with all degrees positive

TL;DR: Paleolimnological research in the territory of Slovakia has relatively short history with the beginning in the 1990s primarily as a response to the ecological changes in mountain lakes due to air pollution and missing data from the pre-industrial period as well as a need to quantify anthropic impact on the landscape.
Abstract: Paleolimnological research in the territory of Slovakia has relatively short history with the beginning in the 1990s primarily as a response to the ecological changes in mountain lakes due to air pollution and missing data from the pre-industrial period as well as a need to quantify anthropic impact on the landscape. In the present paper, we reviewed 53 publications, including research papers, monographs, conference abstracts and theses, dealing with aquatic proxies in Holocene lake sediments to identify (1) the location of surveyed sites, (2) proxies used, and (3) the object of the paleolimnological reconstructions. The vast majority (37) of the analysed paleolimnological localities (51) took place in the High Tatra Mountains, focusing on the alpine lakes of glacial origin. The most frequently used biological proxy was Chironomidae remains (44%). In contrast, Cladocera, Ostracoda, loss-on-ignition, molluscs and stable isotopes were used only in 10–12% of studies. Most studies (84%) focused on a simple ecological reconstruction of the past environment, and only 24% of the studies attempted to reconstruct specific ecological variables, properties and processes, such as acidification (10%), temperature (8%) and eutrophication (4%). Only 2% of the studies used molecular techniques. Sixteen out of the 51 cores analysed (i.e., 31%) were dated by radiometric methods. In the end of our review we pinpoint the weaknesses of the local paleolimnological research and sketch possible future directions.
