TL;DR: In this paper, a survey evaluates the current EMP course effectiveness from the students' perspective and establishes the degree of adaptation of the course content to the learner needs, by creating a flexible learning environment and incorporating the multiple opportunities of the blended learning approach, to address the individual needs of students with multiple levels of English language competence.
Abstract: This survey evaluates the current EMP course effectiveness from the students` perspective and establishes the degree of adaptation of the course content to the learner needs. Our aim is to update the structure of the traditional textbook and to integrate new elements in the English language programme through linguistic tasks and delivery of specialized content for self-study. By creating a flexible learning environment and incorporating the multiple opportunities of the blended learning approach we expect to raise the interest level and to address the individual needs of students with multiple levels of English language competence. An EMP seminar typically comprises of a short theoretical tutorial on a topic of professional interest and a language practice part. Due to time constrains the classroom seminars followed the textbook structure, while for the reinforcement of the specific vocabulary listening, reading and video materials were published on the Blackboard learning platform to supplement the textbook. The re-engagement of students with higher levels of language competence was based on more complex reading comprehension tasks, paraphrasing, summarizing, and presenting activities. Students of lower language competence were exposed to guided grammar and vocabulary practice. Feedback was collected from second-year students in English for Dental Medicine and the survey analysis highlighted the value of teaching resources in the learning process.

TL;DR: It is advisable to promote a healthy lifestyle by improving physical activity and reducing screen time in order to create the conditions for the proper development of the skeletal and muscular system.
Abstract: The contemporary model of life affects our health in physical, psychological and social aspect. It is characterized by decreased physical activity and increased time spent sitting. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of modern lifestyle on the posture of the body in children. Scientific publications in medical databases, including original empirical and theoretical developments exploring physical activity, sedentary behavior and posture of the body in children, have been studied. Reduced physical activity and sedentary behavior have a negative impact on the posture of the body in children. It is advisable to promote a healthy lifestyle by improving physical activity and reducing screen time in order to create the conditions for the proper development of the skeletal and muscular system.

TL;DR: It is concluded that heartwood mulberry extract had beneficial effects on lipid metabolism and could be a potential source for search of active compounds for treatment of metabolic disorders related to adipose tissue metabolism.
Abstract: Scientific evidence exists that extracts from different parts of Morus nigra (mulberry tree), mainly fruits, leaves and root bark, exhibit various beneficial effects, such as antiviral, antihyperglycemic, antiatherogenic and hypotensive activity. Although it is known that the heartwood has a specific phytochemical composition, the biological effects of this part of the plant are not yet clarified. This study examines the effect of 40% ethanol infusion from mulberry heartwood on the expression of three genes related to lipid metabolism: CCAAT/enhancer binding protein-alpha (C/EBPα) gene, adipogenic transcriptional factors peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) and fatty acid-binding protein (aP2) genes in adipocytes. Results obtained present that treatment with two concentrations of mulberry ethanol extract decreased expression of aP2 messenger RNA as compared to controls. Based on these results we concluded that heartwood mulberry extract had beneficial effects on lipid metabolism and could be a potential source for search of active compounds for treatment of metabolic disorders related to adipose tissue metabolism.
