TL;DR: In this article, bismuth titanate nanoparticles with compositions of Bi4−xSmxTi3O12 (BSmT) were prepared by using the gel combustion method and X-ray diffraction pattern of prepared nanoparticles confirmed that all the BSmT compositions were of the single phase orthorhombic structure with the space group of B2ab.
Abstract: Samarium (Sm) substituted bismuth titanate (Bi4Ti3O12, BT) nanoparticles with compositions of Bi4−xSmxTi3O12 (BSmT) (where x = 0.0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.0) were prepared by using the gel combustion method. X-ray diffraction pattern of prepared nanoparticles confirmed that all the BSmT compositions were of the single phase orthorhombic structure with the space group of B2ab. The dielectric loss at 100 Hz varied from 0.0925 to 0.056 with an increase in Samarium content. Dielectric loss confirmed the lower leakage current of BSmT nanoparticles. The ferroelectric behavior of BSmT nanoparticles showed that the Bi3.50Sm0.50Ti3O12 had good ferroelectric property and also had minimum leakage current. The increase of coercive field (Ec) and the increase of remnant polarizations (Pr) were pronounced with the increase in Sm content confirming to the fact that the substitution of Sm3+ had improved the ferroelectric properties of BT.

TL;DR: A novel algorithm for accurate iris recognition using Ridgelet transform is presented, which detects the pupil and limbic boundaries by using the equation of circle to deal with non circular iris boundaries.
Abstract: Iris Recognition is a reliable biometric identification system that uses fine textures of the Iris for person identification and verification This paper presents a novel algorithm for accurate iris recognition using Ridgelet transform In this work, the pupil and limbic boundaries are detected by using the equation of circle Canny edge detection scheme is used for iris boundary detection After that, eyelids are localized via edge detection followed by curve fitting A rank filter is adopted for eyelash removal and a histogram filter, for tackling the shape irregularity of eyelids Finally edge fitting is performed to deal with non circular iris boundaries After edge fitting, Ridgelet transform is applied and Co-occurrence matrix is computed for each sub band for feature extraction Here, the benchmark database CASIA-IRIS-V3 (Interval) is used for identification and recognition

TL;DR: This paper proposes the Collaborative Tagging (CT) model based on the Block Acquiring Page Segmentation (BAPS) method to retrieve the tag-based information using the semantic annotation phase in the proposed work to support the image/web page retrieval process effectively.
Abstract: Information extraction relevant to the user queries is the challenging task in the ontology environment due to data varieties such as image, video, and text. The utilization of appropriate semantic entities enables the content-based search on annotated text. Recently, the automatic extraction of textual content in the audio-visual content is an advanced research area in a multimedia MM environment. The annotation of the video includes several tags and comments. This paper proposes the Collaborative Tagging CT model based on the Block Acquiring Page Segmentation BAPS method to retrieve the tag-based information. The information extraction in this model includes the Ontology-Based Information Extraction OBIE based on the single ontology utilization. The semantic annotation phase in the proposed work inserts the metadata with limited machine-readable terms. The insertion process is split into two major processes such as database uploading to server and extraction of images/web pages based on the results of semantic phase. Novel weight-based novel clustering algorithms are introduced to extract knowledge from MM contents. The ranking based on the weight value in the semantic annotation phase supports the image/web page retrieval process effectively. The comparative analysis of the proposed BAPS-CT with the existing information retrieval IR models regarding the average precision rate, time cost, and storage space rate assures the effectiveness of BAPS-CT in OMIR.

TL;DR: This research paper offers a thermoelectric energy harvesting system that makes use of the heat generated within the stator windings of a wind generator in the operation of a 1.25 MW wind turbine using an isolated converter that has the benefits of better efficiency, higher voltage gain, and ability for supplying a DC micro-grid system.
Abstract: This research paper offers a thermoelectric energy harvesting system that makes use of the heat generated within the stator windings of a wind generator in the operation of a 1.25 MW wind turbine. A single thermoelectric generator can generate only lower power. To deliver higher output power, the Bi-Te based thermoelectric modules (TEMs) may be associated as an array. The square series–parallel configuration is adopted in this work owing to the advantage of unaffected internal resistance value for any quantity of TEMs. The power generated by the TEMs is unsteady owing to irregular wind velocity. Therefore, a power converter is desired before the load. The proposed energy harvesting system makes use of an isolated converter that has the benefits of better efficiency, higher voltage gain, and ability for supplying a DC micro-grid system. Furthermore, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is required, since no matching exists between the total internal resistance of modules and load resistance. In this work, the incremental conductance MPPT technique is used to track the maximum power at every instant of time. The performance of the proposed isolated converter has been compared with other similar converters and the results obtained are tabulated to prove the effectiveness. From the acquired experimental results, it is observed that the proposed system produces a voltage gain of 29, steadier output power during the dynamics of load and efficiency of 91.35% at a wind velocity of 12.9 m/s.
