TL;DR: A literature survey and analytical review of blockchain-based supply chain research was conducted to better understand the trajectory of related research and shed light on the benefits, issues, and challenges in the blockchain-supply-chain paradigm.
Abstract: This study aims to explore the current status, potential applications, and future directions of blockchain technology in supply chain management. A literature survey, along with an analytical review, of blockchain-based supply chain research was conducted to better understand the trajectory of related research and shed light on the benefits, issues, and challenges in the blockchain-supply-chain paradigm. A selected corpus comprising 106 review articles was analyzed to provide an overview of the use of blockchain and smart contracts in supply chain management. The diverse industrial applications of these technologies in various sectors have increasingly received attention by researchers, engineers, and practitioners. Four major issues: traceability and transparency, stakeholder involvement and collaboration, supply chain integration and digitalization, and common frameworks on blockchain-based platforms, are critical for future orientation. Traditional supply chain activities involve several intermediaries, trust, and performance issues. The potential of blockchain can be leveraged to disrupt supply chain operations for better performance, distributed governance, and process automation. This study contributes to the comprehension of blockchain applications in supply chain management and provides a blueprint for these applications from the perspective of literature analysis. Future efforts regarding technical adoption/diffusion, block-supply chain integration, and their social impacts were highlighted to enrich the research scope.

TL;DR: Results demonstrate that intake of R and oCA can be beneficial for the suppression of high-fat-diet-induced dyslipidemia, hepatosteatosis, and oxidative stress in rats.
Abstract: Dietary fat is one of the most important environmental factors associated with the incidence of cardiovascular diseases. In this study, the antiobesity effects of rutin (R) and o-coumaric acid (oCA) were investigated. Wistar rats were divided into normal and obese groups, and obese rats were prefed a high-fat diet (HFD) containing 40% beef tallow for 4 weeks. Then, R and oCA were given as a supplement to obese rats at doses of 50 and 100 mg/kg, respectively, for a period of 8 weeks. The results showed that body, liver organ, and adipose tissue weights of peritoneal and epididymal fat pads in the HFD+ R and HFD+oCA groups were significantly decreased as compared to those in the HFD group. Serum lipid profiles, insulin, and leptin were significantly decreased in the HFD+ R (high dose, HD) and HFD+oCA (HD) groups as compared to those in the HFD group. Hepatic triacylglycerol and cholesterol levels were significantly decreased in the HFD+ R (HD) and HFD+oCA (HD) groups as compared to those in the HFD group. Moreover, the consumption of R and oCA reduced oxidative stress and glutathione disulfide (GSSG) content, and enhanced the levels of glutathione (GSH), GSH peroxidase (GPx), GSH reductase (GRd), and GSH S-transferase (GST) in the hepatic tissue of rats with HFD-induced obesity. These results demonstrate that intake of R and oCA can be beneficial for the suppression of high-fat-diet-induced dyslipidemia, hepatosteatosis, and oxidative stress in rats.

TL;DR: Phylogenetic analyses reveal that most prokaryotic Tat systems consist of one TatC homologue and two sequence-divergent TatA homologues (TatA and TatB), and the TatC family shows phylogenetic clusters in strict accordance with organismal type.
Abstract: Twin-arginine targeting (Tat) protein secretion systems consist of two protein types, members of the TatA and TatC families. Homologues of these proteins are found in many archaea, bacteria, chloroplasts and mitochondria. Every prokaryotic organism with a fully sequenced genome exhibits either neither family member, or between one and three paralogues of these two family members. The Arabidopsis thaliana genome encodes three of each. Although many mitochondrially encoded TatC homologues have been identified, corresponding TatA homologues have not been found in this organelle. Phylogenetic analyses reveal that most prokaryotic Tat systems consist of one TatC homologue and two sequence-divergent TatA homologues (TatA and TatB). When only one TatA homologue is present, TatB is missing, and when three TatA homologues are present, the third one arose by duplication of TatA, not TatB. Further, homologues most resembling TatB are more sequence-divergent than those more closely resembling TatA. In contrast to the TatA family, the TatC family shows phylogenetic clustering in strict accordance with organismal type. These results are discussed in terms of their probable structural, functional and evolutionary significance.
