TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relationship between regulatory capital and risk of Indian commercial banks and the impacts of other relevant variables on them and found that the influence of profitability on both capital and risks is significantly positive.
Abstract: Purpose – This paper aims to examine the association between regulatory capital and risk of Indian commercial banks and the impacts of other relevant variables on them. Design/methodology/approach – The study is based on a secondary data set on Indian commercial banks collected from “Capitaline Plus” corporate database and annual reports of the respective banks. Total 41 major Indian banks (21 public and 20 private sector banks) are considered in this study. Here absolute values of capital and risk are used as dependent variables along with some relevant bank specific explanatory variables in a system of a two-equation model. Based on the nature of interrelationship and identifiability of the equations, three-stage least squares (3SLS) technique is used to estimate the relationship. Findings – Risk and capital of Indian commercial banks are inversely associated. The influence of profitability on both capital and risk is significantly positive. Moreover, human capital efficiency is negatively associated wi...

TL;DR: The tegumental surface of Artyfechinostomum sufrartyfex as viewed under the scanning electron microscope revealed the presence of double rows of spines in the collar and sloughing off of most of the spines or their deformation as well as wrinkles and rupture of the general teguments.
Abstract: The tegumental surface of Artyfechinostomum sufrartyfex as viewed under the scanning electron microscope revealed the presence of double rows of spines in the collar. The dorsal surface (6–8 rows) and the ventral surface are provided with posteriorly directed spines. The normal body surface of Fasciolopsis buski shows posteriorly directed scales throughout the ventral surface; the dorsal surface is free of any scales but has domed, coarsely distributed papillae. When treated in vitro with ethanol root-tuber extract of Flemingia vestita, an indigenous medicinal plant in Meghalaya, India, at a concentration of 5, 10, and 20 mg/ml phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), A. sufrartyfex became paralyzed within 1.1–1.4, 0.8–1.0, and 0.3–0.5 h, respectively. Following similar treatment, F. buski took 3.0–3.6, 1.5–2.0, and 0.6–0.8 h, respectively, to reach a paralytic state. Oxyclozanide B.P. was used as the reference drug and paralyzed the worm, taking slightly less time than the crude extract for both species of flukes. Stereoscanning observations on the tegumental surface of treated (20 mg extract/ml PBS) A. sufrartyfex revealed sloughing off of most of the spines or their deformation as well as wrinkles and rupture of the general tegument. Severe tegumental alterations and deformities were also displayed by F. buski exposed to 20 mg extract/ml PBS.

TL;DR: In this paper, the half metallacity of Co2MnAl as half-Heusler alloy in L21 structure which consists of four interpenetrating fcc sub-lattices was analyzed.
Abstract: We present the study of half metallacity of Co2MnAl as half-Heusler alloy in L21 structure which consists of four inter-penetrating fcc sub-lattices. Density functional theory based electronic structure calculations will be performed by using the full-potential linear augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW). We will use the general gradient approximation method (GGA) and local density approximation method called LDA+U. Density of states and band structure results will be presented in this paper.
