TL;DR: A model, OCT-NET, based on a CNN for the automatic classification of OCT volumes is presented, obtaining an accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of 93.75%.
Abstract: Diabetic macular edema (DME) is one of the most common eye complication caused by diabetes mellitus, resulting in partial or total loss of vision. Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) volumes have been widely used to diagnose different eye diseases, thanks to their sensitivity to represent small amounts of fluid, thickness between layers and swelling. However, the lack of tools for automatic image analysis for supporting disease diagnosis is still a problem. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have shown outstanding performance when applied to several medical images analysis tasks. This paper presents a model, OCT-NET, based on a CNN for the automatic classification of OCT volumes. The model was evaluated on a dataset of OCT volumes for DME diagnosis using a leave-one-out cross-validation strategy obtaining an accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of 93.75%.

TL;DR: This review is based on improving how the “attitude-action” gap is understood as it is an important element for further studies on PHEVs and examines how to modify the consumer’s environmental concerns in acquiring PH EVs.
Abstract: With the rising concern about climate change, there has been an increased public awareness that has resulted in new government policies to support scientific research for mitigating these problems. Malaysia is among the major energy-intense countries and is under an excessive burden to advance its energy efficiency and to also work towards the reduction of its carbon emission. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) have the potential to lessen the carbon emission and gasoline consumption in order to alleviate environmental problems. Most of the energy problems linked to the increasing transportation pollution are now being reduced with the solution of the adoption of PHEVs. PHEVs are seen as a solution to cut carbon emission, which prevents environmental damages. Furthermore, PHEVs' driving range and performance can be comparable to the other hybrid vehicles as well as the conventional IC engines that have gasoline and diesel tanks. Thus, many efforts are being initiated to promote the use of PHEVs as an innovative and affordable transportation system. In order to achieve making the consumers aware of the adoption of PHEVs, we used a model which is based on the extended theory of planned behavior (TPB). This review is based on the factors affecting the adoption of PHEVs among Malaysian consumers. The model takes into account the ten key features that influence the adoption of PHEVs, such as environmental concern, personal norm, attitude, vehicle ownership costs, driving range, charging time, intention, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and personal norm. All these constructs are drivers towards the adoption of PHEVs. These factors affect the relationship between the adoption of PHEVs and how consumers intend to protect the environment. This review is based on improving how the "attitude-action" gap is understood as it is an important element for further studies on PHEVs. The aim of the research is to come up with a framework that examines how to modify the consumer's environmental concerns in acquiring PHEVs. This will pave the way for more academic research and future works that can emphasize how to obtain empirical results. The authors' recommendation is that, before a consumer's behavior is assessed and considered, an observation of the current technology is needed with methods and knowledge of the existing technology adoption aspect.

TL;DR: The claim that the personality types of software development team roles fluctuate by gender type is drawn and gender should be kept in the consideration when composing teams based on personality types is revealed.
Abstract: Context Recent studies have established the fact that the supply of handy and successful software has decreased to 6%. The past studies have also attributed this supply failure to software development team composition factor. To overcome this problem, it is also suggested in the past studies that the soft skills of team member must be considered along with the hard skills. Objective Keeping in view this problem, this study aimed to look for in-depth understanding of team-lead role with personality types of member. This study also included gender to see its diverting impact on personality types and job role, since past studies have also raised many issues pertinent to these two variables. Method This study used the experimented data to develop the rule-based model for software development team composition by keeping gender as major effecting variable with personality. There were three independent predictor variables: Team leader role, Personality types, and Gender; and one outcome dependent variable: team performance. Additionally, personality types of team members were measured by using Myers–Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI) instrument. This study divided the experiments into two stages. The first stage was descriptive examination of factual figures of data for model development. Whereas, the second stage was predictive experiments of data for developing the model. Results The findings revealed that each gender emerged compatible with different types of personality for the same role. For instance, descriptive analysis part of this research highlighted that feeling(F) personality males were appropriate for team leader role, on another hand, thinking(T) personality females were suitable for the team lead role. Conclusion The conclusion can be drawn with the claim that the personality types of software development team roles fluctuate by gender type. Besides, this study revealed and ensured that gender should be kept in the consideration when composing teams based on personality types.

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of carbon nanotubes based nanofluid on interfacial tension and oil recovery efficiency was investigated and it was found that the optimum value of concentration is 0.3wwt% at which maximum surface tension of 33.46mN/m and recovery factor of 18.57% was observed.
Abstract: This study aims to investigate the influence of carbon nanotubes based nanofluid on interfacial tension and oil recovery efficiency. Practically multi-walled carbon nanotubes were successfully synthesized using chemical vapour deposition technique and characterized using X-ray diffraction and Field Emission Scanning Electron microscope in order to understand its structure, shape, and morphology. Nanofluids are one of the interesting new agents for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) that can change the reservoir rock-fluid properties in terms of interfacial tension and wettability. In this work, different concentration of carbon nanotubes based fluids were prepared and the effect of each concentration on surface tension was determined using pendant drop method. After specifying the optimum concentration of carbon nanotubes based nanofluid, core flooding experiment was conducted by two pore volume of brine and two pore volume of nanofluid and then oil recovery factor was calculated. The results show that carbon nanotubes can bring in additional recovery factor of 18.57% in the glass bead sample. It has been observed that nanofluid with high surface tension value gives higher recovery. It was found that the optimum value of concentration is 0.3 wt% at which maximum surface tension of 33.46 mN/m and oil recovery factor of 18.57% was observed. This improvement in recovery factor can be recognized due to interfacial tension reduction and wettability alteration.
