Abstract
SUMMARY A modification of an earlier rating scale for extrapyramidal system disturbance is described, and evidence for the validity and reliability of the scale is presented. The usefulness of the scale in studies of neuroleptic drugs is discussed. By its application it is possible to quantify extrapyramidal side effects and to separate them into four principal factors.

AZD8529, a positive allosteric modulator at the mGluR2 receptor, does not improve symptoms in schizophrenia: A proof of principle study.

TL;DR: The results indicate that positive modulation of mGluR type 2 receptors alone is not sufficient for antipsychotic effects in acutely ill schizophrenia patients, and suggests that risperidone demonstrated significant efficacy relative to placebo.

A controlled assessment of propranolol in the treatment of neuroleptic-induced akathisia.

TL;DR: Patients with neuroleptic-induced akathisia were treated in a randomised, double-blind, cross-over design with propranolol and matching placebo, confirming prior findings of the efficacy of proPRanolol in akath isia induced by Neuroleptic treatment.

TL;DR: Paliperidone extended-release was well tolerated and improved sleep architecture and sleep continuity in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and concomitant insomnia.
