TLDR
A number of methods for detecting abrupt changes (such as failures) in stochastic dynamical systems are surveyed in this paper, where tradeoffs in complexity versus performance are discussed, ranging from the design of specific failure-sensitive filters, to the use of statistical tests on filter innovations, and the development of jump process formulations.
Abstract
A number of methods for detecting abrupt changes (such as failures) in stochastic dynamical systems are surveyed. The class of linear systems is concentrated on but the basic concepts, if not the detailed analyses, carry over to other classes of systems. The methods surveyed range from the design of specific failure-sensitive filters, to the use of statistical tests on filter innovations, to the development of jump process formulations. Tradeoffs in complexity versus performance are discussed.

Automatic and Online Detection of Small but Persistent Shifts in GPS Station Coordinates by Statistical Process Control

TL;DR: Algorithms to detect sudden and persistent changes of small magnitude in the GPS baseline solution vectors or station coordinates and monitor and control the quality of GPS measurements for critical real-time and crustal deformation applications using statistical process control are described.

Tuning Windowed Chi-Squared Detectors for Sensor Attacks

TL;DR: In this article, a model-based windowed chi-squared procedure is proposed for identifying falsified sensor measurements, which leverages the history of the state, over a static detectors which uses a single measurement at a time.

A neural network application to fault diagnosis for robotic manipulator

TL;DR: A new approach of performing fault detection and isolation for robotic manipulators using a non-linear observer and an artificial feedforward neural network, which performs efficiently in detecting and isolating faulty modes of the system.

Deformation Detection in the GPS Real-Time Series by the Multiple Kalman Filters Model

TL;DR: The multiple Kalman filters model based on the idea of model selection is proposed to improve the reliability of the detection of the deformation epoch in real time for real-time deformation applications.
