TLDR
A number of methods for detecting abrupt changes (such as failures) in stochastic dynamical systems are surveyed in this paper, where tradeoffs in complexity versus performance are discussed, ranging from the design of specific failure-sensitive filters, to the use of statistical tests on filter innovations, and the development of jump process formulations.
Abstract
A number of methods for detecting abrupt changes (such as failures) in stochastic dynamical systems are surveyed. The class of linear systems is concentrated on but the basic concepts, if not the detailed analyses, carry over to other classes of systems. The methods surveyed range from the design of specific failure-sensitive filters, to the use of statistical tests on filter innovations, to the development of jump process formulations. Tradeoffs in complexity versus performance are discussed.

A multi-scale convolutional neural network based fault diagnosis model for complex chemical processes

TL;DR: In this article, a fault diagnosis method based on multi-scale convolutional neural network (MsCNN) combined with matrix diagram is proposed for chemical process data, which has good potential in the field of fault diagnosis in chemical processes, and also reliable, practical and scientific.

Reliability Analysis in Kalman Filteirng

TL;DR: In this paper, the reliability theory and its applications in Kalman filtering are discussed, and a distinct derivation of the redundancy contribution for the Kalman filter algorithm is presented, which has not been comprehensively discussed in literature at present.

Application of observer-based fault detection in vehicle roll control

TL;DR: In this paper, an observer-based fault detection scheme for monitoring an active suspension control system in an experimental articulated heavy vehicle is presented. But the observer feedback gains are chosen to optimise estimation by the observer residual of specified errors on the output measurements.

High-integrity navigation: a frequency-domain approach

TL;DR: Frequency-domain techniques are used to model the contribution of sensor and process faults to navigation system performance, and this methodology provides the foundation needed to design navigation systems with enough frequency redundant information to make possible reliable fault detection and identification over the entire operating frequency spectrum.

Diagnosis of Turbine Engine Transient Performance With Model-Based Parameter Estimation Techniques

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the knowledge needed to develop an improved method of modeling the dynamics of gas turbine performance for fault diagnosis applications is presented, with an emphasis on the use of control systems and actuators.
