TLDR
In order to develop the high quality electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding textiles for protective clothing, polyester fabrics were electroless copper-plated as discussed by the authors, and the effects of pretreatment conditions such as scouring, etching, and catalyzation on electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMISE) and physical properties of treated fabrics were investigated.

Sandwich composites of polyurethane reinforced with poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)-coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes with exceptional electromagnetic interference shielding properties

TL;DR: In this paper, a poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene) (PEDOT)-coated multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composite was synthesized by in situ emulsion polymerization and was used as a filler for the fabrication of polyurethane (PU) sandwich composites by a solution casting technique.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface Resistivity and Shear Characteristics of Polyaniline Coated Polyester Fabric

TL;DR: The surface resistivity and shear characteristics of polyaniline/polyester fabrics produced by varying the number of coatings with different fabric structures were studied in this article, showing that with an increase in number of coats, the resistivity of the fabric decreases.

Surface metallization of cenospheres and precipitators by electroless plating

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of a colloidal Pd0 catalysis system to metallize the surface of precipitators separated from coal fly-ash, and metals such as Cu, Ni etc. are deposited on the precipitator surface.

Enhancement in ageing and functional properties of copper-coated fabrics by subsequent electroplating

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple way to prepare electrically conductive multifunctional fabrics made by imparting copper nanoparticles and followed with copper electroplating was proposed, and the surface and ageing properties of such fabrics were investigated.

Preparation of conductive wool fabrics and adsorption behaviour of Pd (II) ions on chitosan in the pre-treatment

TL;DR: In this paper, an effective deposition of Ni-P alloy on wool fabric is proposed by a chemical plating approach with PdCl2 solution and a carrier agent chitosan (CTS).

Plasma Treatment Process for Palladium Chemisorption onto Polymers before Electroless Deposition

TL;DR: In this paper, reaction mechanisms for each of the processes and for each type of surface considered (oxygenated or both oxygenated and nitrogenated by the plasma treatment) are proposed for direct palladium chemisorption onto nitrogenated groups.

A Study of Immersion Processes of Activating Polished Crystalline Silicon for Autocatalytic Electroless Deposition of Palladium and Other Metals

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study the effect of modifying the Pd-ammine complex and varying the substrate doping on Pd deposition during activation and Pd AED adhesion and find that the AED of Pd on polished crystalline Si is non-adherent using this activator solution.
