Enzymatic tumour markers in ovarian cancer: a multiparametric study.
TLDR
By using discriminating function of the above four enzyme variables it is possible to screen ovarian cancer in outpatient obstetric and gynaecological clinics (sensitivity 96%, specificity 83.3%, relative risk 11.7) and this system can serve as a suitable marker for ovarian cancer.About:

Oncogenes in tumor metabolism, tumorigenesis, and apoptosis
TL;DR: Findings indicating that the c-Myc oncogenic transcription factor and hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1) are able to bind the lactate dehydrogenase A promoter cis acting elements, which resemble the core carbohydrate response element (ChoRE), CACGTG suggest that the normal cell responds physiologically to changes in oxygen tension or the availability of glucose by altering glycolysis through the ChoRE, which hypothetically binds c- myc,

TL;DR: Individual and panels of biomarkers from the kallikrein family can predict response to chemotherapy, overall survival, short-term survival, progression-free survival and TTP of ovarian cancer patients treated with chemotherapy.

Evaluation of ovarian tumors in postmenopausal women by transvaginal sonography
TL;DR: Simple reproducible sonomorphological criteria proved to be a useful clinical parameter in the preoperative evaluation of ovarian tumors in postmenopausal women by use of transvaginal sonography.

Sodium selenite modulates tumour marker indices in N‐nitrosodiethylamine‐initiated and phenobarbital‐promoted rat liver carcinogenesis
TL;DR: It is apparent that the beneficial effect of Se is primarily exerted on the initiation phase and secondarily during the promotion stage of DEN‐initiated rat liver carcinogenesis, indicating the antitumour efficacy of sodium selenite on DEN‐induced hepatoma animals.

Management of Ovarian Carcinoma
TL;DR: The proper evaluation of drug therapy has been hindered by its indiscriminate use after the demonstration, in the early 1950's, that alkylating agents could produce subjective and objective responses.

Clinical and biological significance of an isozyme tumor marker--PLAP.
TL;DR: The PLAP gene has now been cloned and sequenced by Millan and others, providing a base line that will make it possible to explain the overlapping specificities of intestinal and placental isozymes, the degree of uniqueness of the PLAP-like isozyme, the precise mechanism of uncompetitive inhibition by L-phenylalanine and the evolutionary history of the alkaline phosphatases.

Enzyme-antigen immunoassay for human placental alkaline phosphatase in serum and tissue extracts, and its application as a tumor marker.
TL;DR: Of the nonmalignant tissues examined, normal lung tissue had the highest hPLAP activity, and 94% of the biopsies from ovarian neoplasia had an increased activity of this isoenzyme.
