PbS quantum dots were prepared on the inside and outside surfaces of TiO(2) nanotubes by using thiolactic acid as an organic linker and characterized by TEM, as well as Raman, FT-IR, and UV-vis spectroscopy.
Abstract
PbS quantum dots (PbS QDs) were prepared on the inside and outside surfaces of TiO2 nanotubes by using thiolactic acid as an organic linker. The sizes of PbS QDs were controlled by employing a dip coating process to anchor the PbS QDs onto the TiO2 nanotubes. The PbS QDs with diameters of 2−10 nm were obtained by adjusting the concentration of thiolactic acid. TiO2 nanotubes with PbS QDs located only inside the nanotubes were prepared by first coating the tubes with the double-chain cationic surfactant DDAB. The PbS QDs supported on TiO2 nanotubes were characterized by TEM, as well as Raman, FT-IR, and UV−vis spectroscopy.

Highly Efficient Multiple Exciton Generation in Colloidal PbSe and PbS Quantum Dots

TL;DR: It is found that the biexciton effect, which shifts the transition energy for absorption of a second photon, influences the early time transient absorption data and may contribute to a modulation observed when probing near the lowest interband transition.

Titania Nanotubes Prepared by Chemical Processing

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for the synthesis of needle-shaped titanium oxide (TiO2) nanotubes was proposed. But the method was not suitable for the case of amorphous raw materials, and it required the use of distilled water and HCl aqueous solution.
