TLDR
In this paper, a technique for patterning a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) on a gold substrate using an elastomer stamp was described, followed by selective etching in an aqueous, basic solution of cyanide ion and dissolved dioxygen (1M KOH, 0.1 M KCN).
Abstract
This letter describes a technique that can be used to produce well‐defined features of gold. The technique involves patterning of a self‐assembled monolayer (SAM) on a gold substrate using an elastomer stamp (fabricated either from a phenol‐formaldehyde polymer or polydimethylsiloxane), followed by selective etching in an aqueous, basic solution of cyanide ion and dissolved dioxygen (1M KOH, 0.1 M KCN). Electrically conductive structures of gold with dimensions as small as 1 μm have been produced using this procedure. Once a rubber stamp is fabricated, patterning and etching of gold substrates is straightforward. This method is convenient, does not require routine access to clean rooms and photolithographic equipment, and can be used to produce multiple copies of a pattern.

Improved Chemical and Colloidal Stability of Gold Nanoparticles through Dendron Capping.

TL;DR: Dendrimer ligands provide a significant increase in the chemical stability of Au NPs when analyzed by cyanide-induced NP decomposition as well as an investigation into their colloidal stability at ambient conditions, showing that dendrimers play a key role in improving the chemical andColloidal stability of NPs.

Method for producing electromechanical transducer, electromechanical transducer produced by the method, liquid-droplet jetting head, and liquid-droplet jetting apparatus

TL;DR: In this article, a method of producing an electromechanical transducer includes a first step of partially modifying a surface of a first electrode, a second step of applying a sol-gel liquid including a metal composite oxide to a predetermined area of the partially-modified surface of the first electrode; a third step of performing drying, thermal decomposition, and crystallization on the applied solgel liquid to form an EM-transduction film; a fourth step of repeating the first, second, and third steps to obtain the EM-Transduction film with a desired thickness; and a
